Anyone know of a site that has some monsters created by fans...I'm sick of using the ones players know so I'm looking for a few they won't recognize.

Look in the Oriental Adventures guide first....that will give some interesting monsters and some interesting RP ideas (why the heck are there Oni attacking us!!!!) Other Sourcebooks have some fun ones too.

Other than that...I am sure there are pleanty out there on websites.

Every time my players get complacent with monsters, I pick a couple in the module and give em a level or two of a class.
Picture a Troll barbarian, tough to kill and beats the hell out of you.
How about a Yuan-ti cleric? Its curing spells undo all the work the PCs just did....

Its just a thought, but it keeps the PCs guessing. Or give one of the monsters a really bitchin weapon. Maybe a lich wielding the Sword of Kas?

Its all about augmentation and templates! Make a Half fiendish Ogre! Watch them go crazy!

And, recently, I have been experimenting with dragons with class levels. Nothing scarier than a Red Dragon with levels of monk. Makes for an interesting villian!

Ugh, that hits a nerve hard enough to get me out of retirement. I just played in a session last week, from a published adventure, mind you, that had a vampiric gibbering mouther. Yes, a template with a level draining bite attack was put on a creature with six bite attacks per round. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of template madness anymore. That thing was awful

Half-Bronze Dragon Ogre Mage Barbarian?

Half-dragon (gold) half-fey yochlol demon?

It's starting to get really silly. That's why we're sticking with ye olde 2nd edition.

We stayed with 2nd ed for a long time, and only switched to 3.5 this March...so far it's been pretty good but I've already found a couple bugs in the system. Oh well

Didja get the Gloves of Dex, War-man?
I ran my gang through that mission a while ago, two casualties from that mouther alone. Not sure if I should count that as a victory for me, or defeat for them.....

We haven't finished the entire dungeon yet, just the tower portion. Of course, our DM has the entire world defined and running, so in the middle we had to deal with an attacking army from the enemy empire. Sixty orcs, a dozen elites, seven river trolls, and an avatar of their god can prove to be a bit of a challenge.

We have found a few here and there too...nothing so serious a house rule cant fix.

We dropped the spells per day system in my game, went with a modified version of the spell point system in Unearthed Arcana (one of the coolest books in 3.5 yet).

All in all 3.5 is a lot better than 3.0...it actually feels very different.

I havent made the change to 3.5 yet, but Im not sure that I want to. I can understand trimming down the skills and such, makes things easier, but theres such a thing as overkill on this one.

Hey, if your guys are getting bored with your monsters, check out the Fiend Folio, Monst. manual 2, or the Book of Vile Darkness. That last one isnt for kids, and the monsters and stuff inside are absolutely deadly.

3.5 is 100% better than 3.0

Stuff makes a lot more sense now. And a lot of the spell/skill changes are awesome. The few class changes are really good too.

Hehe... oops.

Try Community 3e. I can't guarantee the quality of everything, but there're some gems.
