(Seraph walks in the door looking ragged yet whole. Pausing to give Lurch the evil eye , he searches the throng for familiar faces.)
"Damn, you'd have thought someone woulda cleaned this dump atleast once since I left."
(With a final cursory glance around, he headed for an empty table near the broken pinball machine. Pulling a flask from his coat, he sits down and draws a breath as he settles in the seat. Seraph takes a long pull from the flask and leans over the table with his head down, seeming to not want to be disturbed.)

And I thought that they already repaired it. Lurch shouldn't play it, he gets angry and smashes things Very Happy

*walks to Seraph's table and coughs*
Major.

*waits a few moments, and when no answer except a snore comes...*

(Bellowing in his drill sergeant voice) Major! Ten-Hut!

(Seraph looks up at ralgith slowly)
"Nothing wrong with my ears Commander."
(Slowly and with obvious discomfort, Seraph gets back up out of his chair to give a sloppy salute.)
"Nice to see you too. Sir."
(Seraph drops back in his chair without waiting for permission. Picking his flask back up he downs what is left.)
"Just administering some painkiller, sir."
(Seraph reluctantly motions for ralgith to take the opposite seat.)

Ok, first off.. you look like hell mate. You need me to send for the doc? He's been working at the local hospital while on leave, but he can be here in minutes?

Otherwise, I only need ya for a few minutes and a quick synopsis. Then you can crash out again. In my private booth with the slider closed and the noise suppressor on.

So, what the hell happened? Where have you and your company been for the last several months? You went off on contract, then all of a sudden no comms with you at all. I was just short of bringing the regiment into your station with a full blast of whupass. Just give me the quick lowdown, then catch some zzz's. The full briefing can wait till later.

"Where've I been?"
(Seraph shakes his head and settles back in his chair. He motions for a stiff drink from the ever present bar staff and lays more than enough cred on the table in hopes it arrives soon.)
"I've been to the worst hellhole you can imagine. Well maybe not but it was bad. I think I can remember worse but those memories are a bit fuzzy now. Took my company on a small subcontract, you know, the quick payday type."
(Seraph leans forward a bit and leans on his elbows on the table top.)
Job was easy, just had to escort a local senechal from her stronghold to her holdings in the north. Cake walk right? It was. We came upon 5 small armored trucks with minor weapons that made a run at us but we managed to take the trucks out with no loss of life. Seemed like we were being paid for show more than effect."
(Seraph shrugs)
"I was fine with that, you know, show of strength and all that. We arrived at her holdings and that is where things got interesting. Seems there had been a fight there. It was still in the hands of her people but not for long. I knew then why we were hired at the rate we got."
(Seraph chuckles)
"Well we deployed on the grounds and were prepared for seige conditions. We had not long to wait.
I honestly can say I never want to see another damn horse again. Not one more. Well seems like the entire planet showed up on a horse with a gun and a satchel charge to give us a howdy-do"
(Seraph shuddered visibly at the recollections)
"There must have been tens of thousands of them. We tried some suppression fire but they kept coming. Someone musta really ahd em riled up something you've never seen. I have seen seasoned sergeants piss themselves when faced with a battlemech who had his undivided attention. But these fanatics just kept coming. We lost two people in the first 15 minutes. Gabe and Stella just stopped broadcasting and we realized there was nothing left of them or their mechs. It was like the first time I faced toads back in the 50's. Swarms of em were just crawling all over."
(Notices his drink had arrived and pauses to take a long draught.)
"Benson lost it when he tried to wipe em off his Archer. He kept screaming about them still looking at him. Sean had a visual on him and it looked like when he took a swipe at them he smeared them across his viewport. He took off at full speed stomping and kicking his way across a field. He must have hit some big pyrotechniques because there was a big boom and then there were a pair of legs flying apart."
(Seraph looks at ralgith in the eyes.)
"Sir, the indigs blew themselves up in that explosion. They blew up their own people. A lot of them. You could see the bodies flying. I can still see em..."
(Seraph pauses in mid sentence and stares off to no where.)

*Considers buying Seraph a Bloody Mary...things the thing through... maybe not*

Looks like a good place to bring in a Piranha... Or perhaps an exotic animal like a camel or elephant. I heard that horses without proper training refuse to approach them.

*An obvious, but not too good attempt to lighten the situation a little.*

Hell man, we all thought that was a mild contract.
I'll be taking this up with the proper people, don't worry. That was a seriously uncalled for breach of contract. They knew it wasn't an escort. I despise liars more than anything. Hit the rack man. I'll send Doc with something to help ya sleep deep and sound. We all know how the nightmares can be after a battle like that.

*gets up with a solemn expression and hands Seraph the passcard for his booth*

*walks off muttering things to himself, picks up his comm unit from the end of the bar and calls Rudel*
Corporal, you doin ok? The Major just gave me the run down, so I'm checking in on my people. And thanks for keeping him safe, he didn't mention it, but I know how it is in that kinda fighting.

chihawk enters the bar from the storage refrigerator with a handful of oranges and limes, and hears the newly arrived Seraph, but waits until others have made their greetings.

"You're right, we should clean up this place a little. Lurch, clean the dump out please"

Lurch vacates his spot by the door and goes to the booth Seraph is in, grabs him by his jacket, and tosses Seraph through the moderately clean front window. chihawk adds the cost of the window to Seraph's tab.

"Would you like your usual Seraph?", chihawk yells out the now broken window.

"Aren't ya glad I nicked a bit more than we needed?" So saying, the man heads out through the side door to the combination storage area/hangar/whatever else it happens to be today.

"What about Crazy Willy? I'd say we nicked him. But then, adding secondary naming characteristics is kinda a mouthful."
