Site Patched to 2.18.6:
A singular update was made that I wanted to roll out. The update itself seems fairly minor, but I did a lot of internal work on the code along with the update. Mostly restructuring arrays into objects so the code was more readable. Details are below:

Enhancements
  • I changed the way a user created links to machine gun array modules. Previously I had separate machine gun weapons with an (Array) at the end. This not only caused duplicates of weapons, but also made it more difficult to deal with ammo. Now, there is only a single machine gun type (light and heavy as well). When a user adds a corresponding array module to the location, there is a new option in the slot configuration for like machine guns to 'Link with array module'. Selecting the checkbox for this creates the actual link. To highlight this link, a new link icon which will appear to the right of the machine gun. This icon is also printed on the record sheets.

    Because this was a change to how a design is saved in the database, I also updated any existing design that used the older (Array) machine guns to now be consistent with this new approach. So looking at or editing those previous designs will appear as if it was always done this way.

While the Outworlds Alliance shrunk on ComStar’s maps for two hundred years, not all of disappearing worlds died. The “Outworlds Wastes” also included secessionists, would-be pocket imperial capitals, abandoned worlds, pirate havens, pirates’ victims, and imagined sanctuaries from the bloody Succession Wars. Wynn’s Roost was one such world, alternately seceding from the defenseless Outworlds, attempting to build an interstellar nation, being abandoned by collapsing civilization, and suffering pirates’ depredations. The sulfurous world has outlasted its pirate tormentors, rebuilt its industrial base, and hosts a growing population that is now reaching out to the stars. It is a glimpse of the potential of the modern Periphery.

Touring the Stars is a whistle-stop tour of the universe! Every system and planet where mankind treads in the BattleTech universe has a story, for those with the drive to explore it. Take a tour of the stars humanity now calls home, experience awesome new worlds, immerse yourself in the local civilization, and prepare to do battle in exotic locales.
