BattleMech: Atlas AS7-X

Comment: Oh, yes, this is an Ugly Suprise for veteran players that think they know all the Atlas' out there.

This will become a very saught after machine (for me atleast), in a few groups i can think of.

I give it a 4.5 because it is sheer nastiness on a stick.

BattleMech: Locust LCT-4X

Comment: Nice... what was the Company again? HydroDyme?... looks like i might invest in a few of these little Bus to harass people with.

Just enough speed to get the heck out of the way. And more than enough speed to make a Grown MechWarrior Cry, when trying to get Tone-Lock.

BattleMech: Baboon (Howler)

Comment: The Howler [Baboon] is a clan Fire Mandril Totem Mech.

Designed for support the Howler does its job, not good, not bad, it just does.

Their are two Varients of the Howler, one Replaces one LRM-5 with an SRM-4 and exchanges one ton of ammo for SRM ammo. The other Drops one ton of ammo for a ER Medium Laser.

BattleMech: Wasp WSP-1D

Comment: Yep, this mech was Designed to scout ahead of other units. although the 6 / 9 / 6 movement rate bothers me... Scout mechs are usualy very reliable to get in and get out Quickly.

This One is the Oddest combination and placement of weapons on a scout Mech I've ever seen.

I would use this mech for Long Range Recon, and Infantry Elimination missions. Not much more than that.

Comment: The only reason this mech has the 0.5 [and not a 0.0] rating is that the Mech has hands... and one Laser.

I would use this Machine to Harrass enemy Supply lines... i can see no other use for it.

Comment: This looks like they tried to "Urbie" the mech... however, they appear to have chosen a Machine Gun for heat purposes.

I Give this mech a 2; Use his design for scouting out a City, before you send in the big boys.

BattleMech: Commando COM-2D

Comment: This machine has one function. Destroy Large numbers of Infantry [hence the name "Commando"], it does the job well, it has enough speed to keep out of Infantry range, but lacks the Jump Jets [even a jump of 2 would be nice] to escape urban Infantry Traps.

BattleMech: Commando COM-3A

Comment: The 3A is designed to use Lance, or Reinforced Lance tactics.

Light Armor is acceptable for the role this mech plays. House Davion and some units in the Chaos March use the 3A in pack tactics with devistating efficiency.

Double Blind rules make this mech usefull, for its drawbacks.

BattleMech: Mongoose MON-67

Comment: Very, very few Mechs get the coveted 5 rating from me. This one gets a 5 because they engineered this mech well enough to perform sentry duty, and seek and destroy missions.

It is the BEST level one Scout mech one can hope to get.

I would choose this mech over a level ONE Quad, of the same weight.

BattleMech: UrbanMech UM-R60
Rating: 4.50
Comment: Maurading Trashcan, Vindictive Dumpter, Hellspawn Fire-Hydrant, or just plain Urbie-an-Durby... all these name are appropriate, but no one can say the the Urbanmech UM-R60 has a light touch. This very slow, but Malicious 30 Horror is a Mech I am proud to say I use.

If played right, you can chew up a mech three times yur weight and come out walking.

Actualy use the dang thing before you knock it. You might find out why they made like they did.
