I guess the best thing to do here is to give an example. Karagin, if you can supply us one example of two forces with equal BV that is mismatched. You give the example, and everyone here will vote on if they think it's a mismatch or not. I'm willing to bet you'll be very hardpressed to find a matchup with the BV system that is mismatched. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

I can give you one right now, in the BattlePack there is a scenario that has two Dragoon mechs taking on a lances of Kurtia mechs:
Kurtia force:
DRG-N Dragon
CP-10-Z Cyclops
CPLT-C1 Catapult
TBT-5N Trebuchet
All warriors 5/4 for skills.
Total BV:3,946
Dragoons:
HOP-4B Hoplite
WLF-1 Wolfhound
All warriors 2/1
Total BV: 1,700
This is a mismatch....also if that is not enough, I can take just about any star of Clan mechs and have it based on BV end up fight a company or more IS mechs, and according to the BV system that would be fair.

If it's a "last mech standing" scenario then of course it's a mismatch!!!!!! The team's BVs are +2200 apart.
What would make you think this is a good example of your POV?

The Pilot/gunnery skills are also a mismatch in the opposite direction. Would these cancel each other out and make it balanced????

It is an offical scenario, based on BV, thus it's suppose to be set up that either side can win...but as seen there is no way one side can beat the other.
I think this proves my POV to the letter, because it can only get worse.

I don't think so...4/5 veruses 2/1 I don't see them doing that at all...

Actually it's 5/4 vs. 2/1 either way they don't cancell each other out.

Not quite. If you adjust the BV of the 'Mechs by the skill modifiers found at the end of the BV section, you'll find that total BV jumps to 3,028. Still short of the Kuritan lance by about that Cyclops, but nowhere the 2,246 point difference you suggest.

That has already been discussed in another thread that has been locked.
