Overview
Buda Imperial Vehicles, long known for their Bulldog Medium Tank, wanted to break into the aerospace industry. However, other firms already produced the aerofighters of the Draconis Combine, and it did not look like there was any room in the market for BIV. However, they still wished to design and build fighter craft, using their exemplary technology and skills. They decided to start small and would design a simple jet, with swept wings and underwing engines.

This radical design was going to be the signiture of Buda Imperial Vehicles, and something to be proud of. They began designs immediataly and began looking for brand new top of the line equipment. This would lead them to Apple Churchill. Apple agreed to help them, but under one condition: the entire electronic suite must be made out of Apple Churchill electronics. BIV agreed and they began work on the Prowler.

Capabilities
The Prowler is designed to be an electronic warfare fighter. It attempts to establish aerospace dominence by scrambling the electronics of opposing air craft. Although it has limited weaponry, both in terms of strength and number, the point of the Prowler is not to engage the enemy, simply confuse them.

Apple Churchill Electronics is the corner stone of the fighter. The communications, targeting and tracking, and electronic suite are built by Apple Churchill which makes the machine ammazingly easy to maintain and repair, as one technician trained on the Apple system can keep the electronics of the fighter going nicely. The system also works ammazingly well, with fewer lock ups and crashes, even when coordinating and running the Guided Technologies 2nd Generation Streak SRM system. The original competitor, the Comm WIN-98X system would constantly freeze or lock up, which could be disasterous for the fighter. The basic electronics are very efficient and allow the Prowler fairly good scouting abilities.

However, on the modern battlefield basic scouting abilities need to be enhanced. To do this Apple Churchill provides the Guardian and Beagle Probe. The Guardian ECM can keep the Prowler hidden as it searches for enemy units, avoiding targeting computers, Artemis IV FCS, and LK missiles. This scrambling of enemy communications and targeting is very useful for the Prowler in its duties. The Beagle Active Probe allows it to search out units using even ECM to hide themselves. In the event that someone attempts to jam the Prowler, the ECM can be used as a counter ECCM and is boosted through the use of the A-C Beagle. This is where having all of the crafts computers being built by one company makes the real difference. Almost no enemy electronics warfare craft has this boosting ability, which makes the Prowler one of the most advanced EW weapons on the modern battlefield.

The final addition on the Prowler is the 442x TAG. This weapon allows the Prowler to act as a highly mobile artillery platform, carrying two Arrow IV Missiles under its wings. With the rapid coordination between computers the ability of the Prowler to lay down long distane and accurate weapons fire is truly impressive. During trials it was discovered that a wing of Prowlers could lay down the same amount of artillery as a strengthened lance of vehicles in ten seconds, at almost 24% better accuracy, and 12% better launch times. These numbers have gotten the attention of the DCMS High Command, as well as the SLDF. Both groups of asked Buda Imperial Vehicles for nearly 100 craft each to be delivered over four years.

Deployment
Currently only 18 Prowlers have been developed, nine going to the SLDF and nine going to the DCMS. All 18, however, have been deployed along the Clan Front. After the recent clash with Clan Ghost Bear, the Draconis Combine wants to have superior monitoring ability on the front lines. The SLDF seems concerned over a possible Clan Wolf invasion and has concentrated its resources on monitoring the Wolf lines.

Varients
Currently there are no varients of the Prowler.

Beagle Active Probe, Nose
TAG, Fuselage

Note: Dual engines are only available to fighters and make perfect logical sense. Most aircraft mount more then one engine, many up to four or even 8. As such to figure out to get an engine simply take the desired cruising speed, subtract two, then calculate engine value. Divide that number by two. This is the new engine size. Double its weight for ICE engines, and then multiply the weight by two, giving you two engines for the desired cruising speed.

you should have made an a-6 before moving to a ea-6d. bad bad raven.

i fully expect to see a preweighted bomb load on this bad boy, as an a-6 version. i love the intruder.

so get to work, or i'll clip you head feathers.
