At anything less then Long Range, yes you are correct. At Long range that is a +2 to the +4 modifier giving you a +6 then apply your movement modifier, gunner skill and anything else. So if you are a gunner of 4 you have a 10, and if you ran, you have a 12. Jumping I get a +3. Because I have a the TC, it reduces it by 1. My chances to hit may or may not be better. But I think I'll take those odds for you to shoot at me at long range any time. If I am in a city or hills/mountains you'll never be able to engage me until you can get in close.... Then things get interesting!

Rephrase that: It`s pointless for the Sag
to jump, unless it can`t run a full 5 hexes
straight forward. This applies to any range
the enemy might be at.

I disagree. And so would a few people whom I have faced using the Sagittaire. I see the 'Mech in a different light then maybe you do. *shrugs* But hey we all can't see things the same...

Jumping 3 into Heavy woods would be one use of the Jump Jets.

At http://www.classicbattletech.com/MonteDiablo.html you can download the data for the MonteDiablo scenario, including sheets for all 'Mechs ( Sagittaire, Stiletto, ... ).
I have played the Sagittaire in the official Monte Diablo scenarion in Vienna ( we won loosing only the Enfield, Exterminater, Osiris & Tessen and let none of the Lyrian 'Mechs escape ).
The jump-3 capability saved this 'Mech as it permanently jumped from one heavy wood to another heavy wood.
But as i usually prefer to play fast 'Mechs with long range energy weapons, like the Packhunter, i really hated the short range of most of the weapons of this munchy monster.

Teh Sag. Aie.
This is not a munch mech. This is a walking death trap for any commander who sits in it.
3/5 speed, with IS pulse lasers for 95%% of your firepower? Bwa-haha.
You know, I can backwalk a Griffin, a *Griffin* at the same speed this turd can advance, tapping it on the chest with a PPC until the cows come home, and there's not a whole lot it can do about it. Not enough, at any rate, to justify the price. What is it for this thing? 30 Million-ish? Lord lord.
Be my guest, gang. I'll be over here, thwapping it at 15+ hexes away.

No, not forgetting it at all. Just not fearing it. This thing just has 'Target' painted all over it. By the time it gets close enough to be a factor, it should be mostly dead.
Horrible waste of the C-bills, I'd say.
I'd be happy to stick the same cost in 3025 Griffins against it, anyday. Done right, I should come out without a lost mech.

The Sagittaire is not munchy. It is just the Spheroid's attempt to close the gap between their mechs and Clan mechs. _________________ History is much like an endless waltz. The three beats of war, peace and revolution continue on forever.

Then they need to work on RANGE improvements first. I kinda like the way it looks, almost evil looking but the weapons load isn't scary at all. If it was me I would take one and strip the weapons and add a pair or Gauss or salvage clan Erppc, and the heatsinks to deal with it. Hmmmm..thinking of a new variant.
I personally have never been to fond of pulse lasers, and even less fond of the IS version os them as a Black hawk can outrange them.

There's some sort of database error with this thread so I'm going to lock it until Mordel can figure out the problem.
