I was digging through the BattleTech archives on my machine and here is a sample of my findings. This design predates the release of AT2.

Technology Base: IS Level 2 OnmiFighter
Tonnage: 35
OVERVIEW
The Firebrand is the Inner Sphere's first OmniFigher
to be mass produced. It started as a joint effort
between the Draconis Combine, Comstar and the Federated
Commonwealth. But since Katherine's rise to power the
FedCom's technicians have split off from the project taking
a copy of the blueprints with them. At this time it is
unknown weather or not Katherine has started production
or not. But there is a factory on Luthein that is
turning out fighters for the DCA and the ComGuards as
fast as possible.
CAPABILITIES
The Primary Configuration can engage the enemy in almost
any situation though it is primarily a space superiority
fighter. The ER lasers get the first shot the Missles then
finish off whatever is left, since they are Streaks not
one round of ammo is wasted.
Alternate Configuration A is the scout variant that
still has a nasty bite as well as excellent range with
it's double sized fuel tanks.
The B configuration can engage the enemy at extreme
range long before they can reply in kind.
The C variant has both long and medium range punch. The
ER PPC gives the long range knock out and the lasers
provide as excellent backup.
The D configuration is mainly for strafing but it
does fairly well in dogfights. With 9 medim lasers this
configuration can really clean up the battlefield no
matter were it is.

Very nice design. This fighter would be deadly in a strafing run, and in a dog fight it would give its opponent the runaround. The version with the large lasers and the one with the PPC would be great for hunting down heavy command mechs.
