I would drop one of the Arrow IVs and add more armor and ammo. I would also recommend placing the remaining Arrow IV in the turret with the main gun.

My only comment would be the addition of a platoon of infantry. Why?

Cause they could be dropped on shore to carry TAG units to target for the big guns! I am a golden god.

Dumb question...

Why can't you put a VTOL platform on it?

Well my friend...make one up. You've created technology before, so why not now?

No logical reason why there shouldn't be some sort of VTOL pad on that thing.

How about just claiming that the helo & the pad were external cargo. Just add on maybe 5-10% of the max weight for the vehicles that can be carried. Rounded to the nearest half ton. i.e. 25 ton max = 1.25 tons extra (rounded to 1.5). This extra weight will represent equipment needed to hold the VTOL in place.

Of course, you would have to worry about the chance of hitting the craft. In this case, choose a location (front or back, since sides have to balanced, IIRC) for the pad. If the location is hit roll 1D6. On a rool of six the VTOL is hit.

As for having an internal raising platform, like on an aircraft carrier, add an extra 5 tons to represent the platform and the doors covering the VTOL inside the ship. If a critical hit is made against the location roll 1D6, and on a roll of six, the doors/platform are wrecked and the platform id locked in position. A second critical like that will apply half the weapon's damage to the front of the VTOL.

Cost: External Pad- 500 c-bills
Internal Platform- 50,000 c-bills

What does everyone think? Good? Bad? Needs Work?

That's not bad, Not bad at all.

Simple, quick, reasonable, and pretty much hit's the mark on what FASA might have done.

Good job Phoenix

Seems a little light to me off hand, I need to re-read the external cargo rules before I get too picky though. Nevertheless it is a workable rule.

I have noticed a really strange pattern. Anything I create that takes a few days of messing around with, usually ends up annoying everyone. But if I think of it off the top of my head and just type it down, it seems to get a better review. That is just weird.

i like it...... an considering that the landing platform itself is just a specilized deck.... theres really no weight increase. that comes from recovery equipment and storage supplies [ie: fuel n munitions.]

as for its effect on the ship as external cargo..... eh. skip it.... its a ship. there slow anyway, lol.
