Raven and his Royal Rose Mercenary Battalion have been opperating out of the Solaris City zone for a number of months now. By far one of the best units in the area, and one of the most noble, Raven was out on a standard patrol to test some sensor modifications. The Thorn company, comprised of infantry and APC's, was engaging both Raven and Francis moved their assault mechs towards the infantry's position, an old industrial complex no longer in use.
"This is CO 1:1 to CO 1:2, any thing on the screens? Over." Raven kept to the encrytped channels, no reason to let the Thorns no what was happening.
"CO:2 to CO:1, nothing. Over." Raven muttered under his breath and increased power to his sensors. He manuvered in front of the Zeus, his Battlemaster having better infantry fighting weapons then the old Zeus. The Zeus turned and did a scan of the southern approaches, where the jungle was slowly being tamed. "CO:2 to CO:1, I've got nothing from the complex, but there is some heavy movement going on in the jungle, it looks like an unorganized swarm of infantry approaching hard adn heavy. Over."
Raven pondered for a minute, then placed a call to the B&G to find that they were in a state of high alert. "This is Raven to anyone at the B&G, what is going on? I'm on the southern approaches and according to scans we ahve a mass of movement coming north. Over"
With communications broken the Thorns poured out of their positions and joined up with Raven, many of them questioning what was going on. Raven ordered them back to their base to raise the Battalion and to defend the supplies. If they're was an attack, he needed to know. Suddenly a call came in. "Black Rose 1 to Command Lance 1," came Vagabond's voice, "The Simian menance is back! I've readied the Royal Roses to fight and they are on their way to your position. Over."
Raven swore loudly and then went back to the unit line, "Francis, you get all that? If not we're under attack, the simian threat! Fall back into the industrial complex and we'll wait for reinforcements there. Over."
Both the Zeus and BattleMaster moved into the complex and prepared for combat, setting up a layered defense with Raven in front and Francis behind to get the best use of his ranged weaponry. 10 KM away the jungle line seemed to burst, and the old simian threat came pouring through, and above them waved the banners of Bubbles the Chimp!!!
