Okay not sure where this should go but the Design area sounds like the best place...

I am looking for ideas for a ship that fills the following requirements:

A ship similar to the old 20th Century Terran Torpedo boats. Has the ability to get in close and unload large amounts of missiles and other high damage weapons and get out again.

Now the other question is which type of ship fits this role...does a small warship fit this better then say a monitor? Or does a dropship (either style) fit it better? Or can this be done with a fighter chassis?

Let's hear some ideas for this and see what you guys come up with.

I think there's a variant of the Neptune sub that has like 6 SRM6's and 1 LRM20. If you're looking for a naval vessel with lots of missiles.

If you read just a little bit more, he actualy said WarShip or monitor or fighter chassis, all indications of space crafts

well, isnt a sea naval combat ship also known as a warship?

And I might add, the 1 and only actual offical btech surface vessel is called the Monitor Not to mention that he referred to old torpedo boats. Soo...

That Monitor you are talking about is a class name not a type. He did also said DropShip. When everyone said WarShips, we all know they are refering to the combat jumpships.

I would say a dropship or maybe even some type of combat shuttle, i.e. a 150-200 ton fighter.
