Hey AWAD,
And any other DCMS fans out there.
I’m looking for some feedback on a project
I’m working on a Lvl 1 tech, 10,000 BV company.
I’m thinking ‘Legion of Vega’ for the paint scheme for the minis. So what do you think, first or second company? If you would substitute one Mech for another, please give a reason why.

More Jenners, Panthers and Dragons, less of everything else. It's those three mechs that the 3025 DCMS runs on.
Well, not necessarily the Legions of Vega... I like your number one company, but there's one mech that needs to go. Is there any chance to dump the Cicada for a Jenner?

I included it because it was mentioned in "Heir to the Dragon".

Here is pure Kurita goodness with explination:
Raider Lance
1) JR7-D Jenner
2) JR7-D Jenner
3) JR7-D Jenner
4) PXH-1K Phoenix Hawk
The idea behind this lance is that the Jenner is still made. You can take huge damage and casualties and still replace your mechs. Their are enough Phoenix Hawks around and enough spare parts for the same reason. The Phoenix is the command unit here.
Mobile Engagement Lance
1) DRG-1N Dragon
2) DRG-1N Dragon
3) DRG-1N Dragon
4) ARC-2K Archer
Every engagement I read about talks about swarms of Dragons, well here they are! Use the Archer as the hunter and killer, and the Dragons as beaters, you'll flush some damn fine game with this lance combo.
Assault Lance
1) DRG-1G Grand Dragon
2) DRG-1G Grand Dragon
3) WHM-6K Warhammer
4) WHM-6K Warhammer
Two heavy hitters and two flankers. This unit screams "Death to all those who oppose the Dragon."

I think the Thunderbolts and the Stalkers should go; these are not really designs Kurita would have.

This is what I think of when I think Kurita. Kurita and Liao are the only houses left capable of producing swarms of identical designs.

Stalkers are(in the 3025 TRO fluff text) the most common of the assault class mechs. It would stand to reason that they would find a home in every house unit and many merc units.
Thunderbolts are another one of those common but not often remarked upon designs. They are rather common yet hardly seen in novels and scenarios. I think they fit in rather well.

However, Assaults would be clustered around defensive positions such as Luthien, and mech development areas. They would not be thrown away in skirmishes for parts.
One, they are too slow.
Two, they are too slow.
Three, they are too slow.
Oh... did I mention they are too slow?
In 3025 their are no huge raging battles for control over things. This isn't the "Spontaneous Birth of Mechs" era of the late 3050s and beyond, this is the "We're almost out of mechs, make sure the Assaults guard the planets we need the most!"
Hell, I'm betting a lot of units use infantry and vehicles for raids against targets, Mechs are just too valuable.
The company I designed is light fast and mobile. It can get in, grab stuff, and get out FAST and still pack punch. THAT is a Kurita company. Read Mud's comments, he's so on the ball he is the ball!

T-bolts always struck me as a Steiner, Davion, and Marik design for the most part, although Seraph is right about Stalkers...but assault 'mechs don't show up in Kurita line companies...or anybody's except Steiner's.
