I disagree...using the standard 4/5 pilot a kick with a base to-hit of 3 has a better chance of hitting then weapons....and a successful kick results in your opponent needing to make a pilot check.

DFA is a desperate move, but I`ve used
it when there was nothing else to do.
Just knowing that you are jump capable
keeps many opponents outside your jump
radius, I`ve noticed. _________________ A tree fall in the forest, and no one is around, and it hits a mime. Does anyone care?

It's more likely they stay outside of your jump MP to avoid you jumping behind them.

That`s a good point, but they usually make
sure range is one more than my jump. Just
in case I go haywire and DFA with a fully
operational mech. _________________ A tree fall in the forest, and no one is around, and it hits a mime. Does anyone care?

Yes, I would say you've gone haywire, if you do that.....But It would not be the first time I have seen it done....Scary is it not????

As I said before, I invite all of my future opponents to DFA me.
The odds of hitting with a 4/5 pilot are less than 50% before you figure in my movement and terrain.
So feel free to act "crazy" and try it.

DFA is too hard to hit.
it's an 8+
don't do it unless you have a quad.
or are using the level 3 rule for pilot modified base to hit numbers.

sorry.
not only is it an 8+ to hit.
but factor in the targets movement.
it could easily be 10+

Last ditch maneuver when that is all you have left or perhaps a classy finish to that prone immobile opponent when you just want to rub things in.
