There's nothing more annoying than a player spending an eternity on a move only to make a stupid one.
I once had a guy chasing my mech around a battlefield taking over 3 minutes per move, and for 8 consecutive turns he needed 13s or 14s to hit me and I needed 9s or 10s.
People were laughing so hard at the guy I almost felt sorry for him.

Nope. Just a sleeze wanted the best advantage.
Chihawk. Drag-boy does that all the time. He is the main reason we put in the time reason.

Chess players, like myself, have a tradition of taking forever to move....

Mine go both ways...but I tend to never look more than one turn in advance. I almost never take time if I win the iniative cause I know where the other 'mech is and I usually can just guess at what will give me the best numbers. That has caused me some problems, however, as I will back off and the other person will completly disengage, dropping out of range totally.
When I lose the iniative, I think a little more, my turns take up to 5 minutes that way.
