Ahhh, and as it's MW:DA it's not Battletech.
So good thing you didn't add it otherwise Mordel may have wanted this thread moved to "General Gaming" as this forum is for Battletech only.

Anyone that says MW:DA and Battletech are the same game is wrong.
Plans are that they will share the same timeline, but the fact is they are different game systems and as such are different games.
It's like "AD&D" and "d20 D&D"...they are different games that use the same "universe" and concepts--they don't really have a timeline but the idea is the same--but have actual rules that are not the same.
Will the MD:DA units eventually have a Battletech equivalents? The answer is "yes", of course they will, be it "officially" by FanPro/Whizkids or by fans making their own "house rules" to convert them.
But the fact remains that Battletech and MD:DA are not the same game.

Just to clarify...
I have seen in many places where Warner has said that the timeline of MD:DA is "the future" of Battletech, but I don't recall seeing where he has said they are in fact the same game.

I haven't seen the rules for MW:DA yet, but obviously the game mechanics are different. As to "that different", based on the stuff I'm hearing and the promo pack that's out I'd say it will be "that different".
