All thse millions of C-Bills wasted on a sophisticated piece of suveillance equipment and then you turn it in to a guided projectile, which still happens to cost more than basic Atlas... and still drops on the first minefield. That's a fail of epic proportions.

Since when did goldplating bombs make more sense, when you happen to own several gold mines?

When it comes to economics in BT it makes sense. Same as when it made sense to make drone mechs that are more effective then piloted ones and far more easier to lose.
