People are just uspet with Metallica, thats all. I have entire essays written on this subject...
And technically, Metallica was never heavy metal. They were considered Progressive Metal...which aside from Guns N Roses, Megadeath and maybe 1 or 2 more, doesnt really exist.
The people that dont think Metallica was a good band need to look at what they are saying. Are they saying the band wasnt good musically? Or that Lars Ulrich was an asshole?
Heh...coulda sworn it was George...i might be wrong.

Well lars might have been an asshole sometimes but that is besides the point. Musically they are awesome. King nothing, outlaw torn, enter sandman used to be good till they played it too much and killed it.

It was Jethro Tull...and the catagory was "best hard rock/heavy metal album".
And it was easily the best hard rock album of that year if I remember correctly...

That a tough one, BP. Music tastes change over the years so its hard to pin down a single band or song as my favorite. But if I had to choose I guess I would say:
Favorite Band: Metallica
Favorite Song: No Leaf Clover
Now, I don't actually listen to this much anymore because I've heard it a bazillion times, but it is a classic.

Fav songs let's see
Definetly Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac
Also Abracadabra by I forget and Take the Long Way Home by I forget. Never get tired of listening to those songs.
Of course I have near as many music CDs as I do mech minis, so a real favorite songs list would get pretty long.
