Okay, set it up for TotalCon. Since I'm defending my title let's make it two Archers (ARC-2R). Simple duel on standard map sheet.
Are you getting a piece of this action as a promoter?

Two Archers!?!?
Come on guys. Stop playing with kid toys. Use a pair of Kracken 3s.
Now that is a fight worth watching.

OK, not an issue. It'll have to be after 11pm as I'm sure Casey will want to have a few beers before he starts

Casey is one of the best players I've ever had the occasion to play against. The two of us used to play alot when he lived here in New Hampshire, but now he lives in Reston Va, so we only get to play at Cons.
Our playing styles are kind of compliments (comes from playing against each other too much) I tend to get a bit to defensive, when I have too many pieces(more than a Lance), I concentrate so much on support that I sometimes miss the obvious stuff.
His strength is numbers. I've never seen anyone handle large piece numbers in a battle better than he does. One on One, he and I have some very good battles.. all the way up to four on four... anymore than that and he hands my head to me.
The time Darryl is talking about, he had entered the New England Battletech tournament at TotalCon.. I had not entered.. The way it was set up, you needed to fight two battles to get to the next stage, and no-one would fight him after he wiped the floor with his first opponent, so I joined and told him I'd fight him that night.
Darryl and I finished up an event a bit early and hit the bar.. quite hard in fact.. we were an hour late showing up when we staggered in..
Instead of my usual "OK lets interlock fire and protect each other" I was so damned drunk that I wanted to get it over with early so I charged him, and managed to kill one of his mechs in like the second turn.. after that it was brutal.. I don't think I lost a mech, and I wish to heck I could remember exactly how I fought him cause I'd do it more often.
I won that silly tournament that year.

I'd second that nomination. My only regret on not making it to Totalcon this year was not being able to rib him about what day he had scheduled his convention illness.

It appeared to be Friday this year.
Although spending 20hrs in flight during the prior 48 is an excuse.
This time.
