If you don't know who the bartender is here then you're a "newbie"

Ironhand howls in laughter as he is "one up'd" by Vagabound's cyberware. smiling he walks over to Lurch and removes the spetsdod from under his left sleeve, and hands it to the 'big man'. grins again as he removes his knife, hand made from mech plating. turning to the bar, holds up his arms...."better? sorry guys didnt see the sign."

"Dont eat anything in the kitchen? that sounds interesting."

"Hesperes II, Major" begins Ironhand waving to the barkeep for other drink, "im trying to remember...been invaded or i should say, tried to be invaded, several times. Every Kurita and Marik brother and sister has tried to take that one." grins Ironhand. "I got stationed there right out of the University of New Avalon. Hell, that was, sighs, 21 years ago. Time flies when your gettin pounded."

The Major pops open another can on AMP. "I imagine the Dracs were much hardier opponents." Nods at Horhiro. "The Mariks can barely seem to get their stuff together for any amount of time. It's a wonder they ever mangaged an offense at all." He drains the can. "U of NA, huh? I was at the NAIS, class of 3062. Took every cent my parents had..." The Major gets quiet.

"my apologies, Chihawk." says Ironhand stuffing several c-bills into the tip jar,"actually i have a great esteem for bartenders. I fact the guy who taught me how to use those spetsdods was a bartender."

"Hey man i understand that," says Ironhand, "Tuition at the U of NA wasnt cheap. Not to mention the contract i had to sign for my first 6 years in the House Guard. After that, pay was pretty good, food okay and i spent alot of time in the hanger with my tech crew working on my Warhammer. I take care of the hands that take care of me. I'm not too bad a tech, for a mech pilot. What kinda work are you into Major?"

The Major nods. "I got taken into the Harvesters when I got out. It's been a hectic five years, but I've already made Major. I pilot a GRF-6S Griffin and command the 17th Recon Battalion. Aside from other changes I won't bore you with...(mostly cosmetic)...I managed to get a Null-Signature system tied into it. It doesn't always work, but when it does. Make any changes to that Warhammer?"

*finishes up his game and walks over to shake the new comer's hand* Sorry about that *extends a hand* I'm Colonel Paul Shepherd CO of the merc unit "Hyperion Legion". Born on the planet Hyperion to a Lyran family, raised under Wolf Occupation (don't let the Rank fool you I'm only 17) I was blooded against the Jags during Bull-dog and my unit was pretty much wiped out during the Civil-War... by the Lyrans... never saw action against your unit though so no hard feelings

Alexander rises from his table, unexpectedly sober and walks over to the newcomer.

He eyes the man up and down taking in the details and sighs. Alexander walks over to the bar and hands chihawk some small bills in exchange for a pint. He walks back over to Ironhand and extends his right hand.

"I'm Colonel Alexander, CO of the Heavy Horse Merc Brigade. Sorry, but seeing Lyrans always stirs up bad memories. I was in the 12th Donegal on Trell when the Falcons attacked, and lost most of my Company there, as well as my arm. It's not something I talk about much anymore..." Alexander says before turning back to his table from where he observes the conversations that surround him here.

Alexander (Weary warrior)

The Major gets up and heads for the broken machine. "Yes, Sir." In a few minutes he's underneath it again, cursing at thousand year old electronics.

"glad to meet ya, Alexander," says Ironhand, "Merc huh. i actually like Merc's myself, although alot of House Guards dont. I actually bunked with some Hansen Roughriders for a bit, when they came to Hesperas one time." laughs, "Never a dull moment." Then more soberly, "Yes i understand the bad memories myself...." Raising his glass to the bar, "To all those Mechwarriors, enemies and friends, who have fallen in battle, we salute you!"
