If anyone has any doubts, think about this. When was the Last time you saw an Officer getting his hands dirty, by working with the enlisted personnel? Not often. They say they need something done, the NCO's find a way to get it done.
Now, There are some Officers that acually do get dirty, and God Bless them. We need more of them.

As a serving NCO I will be forced (totally against my will of course) to say that you aren't whistling Dixie brother. I spent three years of my eight in a HQ. Officers are lazy, and incapable of making minor decisions. I always had to move filing cabinets and furniture when they got tired of looking at the same office arrangement. And I usually had to decide what they were going to get. If that's not a vote of confidence in my leaders... Oh wait. It wasn't!

It's not just military. Generally speaking in the corporate and business worlds, the further up the ladder you go, the less work you actually do! And to boot, it takes them forever to decide anything!
Hell, I've been trying to get a new printer near my area because the one that's there locks up every few days and we can't print.

I have got you beat. This is a windows 98 first ed. 90% of the programs we run around here require a Win-2000. Which is why I have so much free time. I cannot do the work with the tools they provide. So I surf all day. Tell others what to do. Then slack off.
All thanks to office policiy. Which says that "Unless the computer crashes or has a fatal failure. You cannot upgrade or replace the unit"
Got to love it.

Win 98, I wish I had that. We're still using 95. Have you ever tried to develop software on 95. Pain and Suffering...
