Even though Icer's not around right now I thought I'd thank him publicly for giving me such a sweet firing solution in Chihawk's game. No movement modifier and only +4 at short range for ERLL's on the punch table. What a brave (read stupid) mechwarrior. This guy fights like Horhiro.

Ouch, that really hurt.
Listen you. Keep up those comments and your pit bull might get a mad cow dog bone this sunday! 
And byw, I was piloting a level 1, 3025 Rifleman D with less total armor than on just one of your torsos. with a move of 4-6, and 10 heat sinks, I never had a defense modifier of more than +2. Yet I kept a 7-11-7 Wraith at bay and almost took him out somewhere around turn 11, before he took me out.(2 shutdowns later)
If I remember correctly, your primadonna Penetrator wasn't even fired on for the first 11 rounds!!!!!!! (by some wimpy 45 tonner)
You and I might have to have a go at it this sunday, me boy!

That would be just fine. Kathy's been wanting to learn how to play B'tech and I wouldn't want her to go up against too tough an opponent. You should be just the sort of pilot she can defeat easily her first time out.
Now go take those Calvin and Hobbes books out of the bathroom!

You can't fire on him ICER. Declaring fire on him is an invalid order, so the order would be ignored.

I am begining to see why I do not like the Inner Sphere.
OH,Well. He still decent numbers at me. And he can only get two weapons on me.
But I have to wonder why he is going after a beat up Wraith when there is a Atlas right next to him?
I think that he fears the Wraith more than the Atlas.
And with good reason. With a little luck I will survive this round. And I will strike back.

The game isn't IS or Clan, it's the "rules" we are using. He's advanced to the next round and you're a viable target to him.
It's why you can't "run away" in this scenario, because eventualy you have a mech shooting at you that you can't return fire on.

Well maybe I am fighting by clan rules. I don't recall clanners not firing on mechs that cannot shoot back. That would obviously negate any range benefit their weapons would have. However, every mech I have fired upon or will fire upon will die, or I shall die trying.
Sounds like I am fighting by clan rules, quiaff?
You must be fighting with clan whining rules apparently.
