The S-PPC was designed to provide lighter 'mechs with a long range energy weapon in a space effective design.
Stats:
Weight: 2 Tons
Critical: 1
Damage: 6
Heat: 6
Range: 5/10/15

| 2 med las will do more damage, and only has a shorter range by 6. A lighter mech that would use this should be able to close that in one turn. 15 is the same range as a Large laser. I think it needs a little more range than that.

I didn't shout JOYGASMIC! when I saw this. I don't know whats missing.. but it lacks inspiration. I know it needs something, but I don't know what. Trying up the range to 18... same as the old PPC. maybe that will make it Joygasmic... till then... 1 Feather.

This is Clan Tech, rather than conventional, right?
For a conventional answer to the Large Laser, I'd rather see something like this:
Weight 3 tons
Crit 2 spaces
Damage 7 pts
Heat 5 points
Range 1-4/5-8/9-12
It's a really tricky place, tho, that spot between a large laser and a medium. Very tricky indeed.

Just feel like being an MB Necromancer again.
My 2 cents: One less heat point and one more ton. That would make the trade off better IMO.

Agreed. For an IS weapon, it's too small in Critial, and too light in weight. A 'Lesser PPC' would be very hard to make, just because there's no scaling for this weapon at all, unlike lasers, autocannon, and so forth.
This is why we need Mech Rifles, dangit.

Yeah, kinda like AUtocannon, kinda not.
Hand-portable, ballistic, rapidife gun-type-thing. Totally wrong for the system, because you'd start finding heavy mechs with, like, a half-dozen of them across the chest, but, good for mental imagery.
They'd be about like so:
IS Level 2
Weight: 4 tons
Critical: 3
Minimum: -
Short: 1-5
Medium: 6-10
Long: 11-15
Damage: 4
Heat: 1
Ammo: 40
Hardly the best damage/ton ratio, but.

Or do you want me to use this scrap in ProtoMechs ? 
P.S.: What do you think about the following (ProtoMech) PPC for The Clans ?
