Description: For a very long time, this was by far the best BattleMech editor that was out there. It had a lot of promise, and it still does. Unfortunately, the creator hasn't updated it in a couple of years. But should he ever choose to do so, I know I'll be one of the first to take a look at it. Still, if you don't want to use any of the newer technology, and enjoy 3025 or 3050 technology, then give this a shot. You won't be dissapointed.

Comment: This is it. The one great programme I use. And have been doing so (in one incarnation or other) since my start into the hobby in 1996.
Everything which I design, I either do by hand or with BMD. It is a beautiful creation that perfectly balances utility, depth and aesthetics. Not at all unimportant when sitting down to spend some time with the programme.
It was abandoned after the release of the first two Field Manuals (Kurita & Marik) - all other equipment was never written into it. As has been said: use it for a timeframe up to, and including, the invasion of the Clans.
For that it is perfect, with the only minor problems being the inability to create imbalanced armour and the non-inclusion of artillery weapons. Also, it still had the old BV-skill modifiers of MaxTech (unrevised) and not of the Master Rules. Of course, we are currently undergoing a change to BV2, and really, all of these factors are tiny detail in the richness that we are presented with here.

Comment: This editor offers some great features but is not as n00b friendly as the drawing board.

I suggest using this if you can't get TDB or dont want to spend an extra few minutes downloading.

Comment: My favorite mech designer, much easier than the drawing board, very user friendly, the only downside is the lack of some of the advanced tech, even some of the level two equipment from the RMR are missing (ATM's?), the printouts are the best, closest to the fasa sheets.

Comment: Not quite sure, as the program doesnt work. Some message about some nessacary file not being present. Still, Ill work with it. Theres got to be something simpler and less expesive than buying record books and filling out sheets by hand.

Comment: Just played with this last night and loved how easy it was to use. SInce I have just recently started playing again after a 4 year lapse, the out of date issue does not bother me. Heck, I am still playing with the cardboard pieces from the 2nd edition box set I bought in 1992.
