Overview:
The Reaper started its desire cycle in 3055 towards the end of the Caveman's original
production run. It initially featured a host of advanced technologies but problems with the
reinforced heavy chassis forced a delay in the project. By the time internal systems could
be planned for the unit it was clear from the Caveman that a semi-advanced mech had a small
market. This lead the designers to fall back on the principles that made the Bushranger
successful. Simple lower tech weapons and systems that could be built for low cost and low
maintenance cost for mercenary commands. This approach was a smashing success. An effective
missile platform for commanders in the assault class for under 10 million c-bills made waves
with Merc eager to increase indirect firepower.
Featuring 2 Holly LRM 20's for long range engagements this Mech is vulnerable to attackers
that can close in to short range with it as it only has one medium and one small laser for
backup.
Variants:
RPR-G13 - Replacing the stock loadout the G13 turns the Reaper in to a direct fire monster.
Dual ExoStar Balefire ER PPC's let he G13 be an extreme danger at standoff ranges. 4 Diverse
Optics Sunfire ER medium laser protect the mech at closer rangers. the G13 upgrades the
heatsinks to double and increases the number to 15 manage the heat.
RPR-F19 - Introduced at the end of the Jihad, the F19 takes the G13 and flips it on it's
head. Swapping the PPC's for Sunb-nosed variants and the lasers for pulse versions the city
brawler is the nightmare waiting around the corner.
RPR-R19 - Introduced at the same time as the F19. This variant features 3 MML-9 launches
able to engage at any range backed up by 4 medium lasers and an XL engine. The design was
targeted at wealthier mercenaries that could afford the flexibility that MML's offered while
keeping other systems simple.
