================================================================================================
Overview:
The Diablo is a unique heavy design cobbled together by a team of expert technicians in the
service of Sir Ian Grimm, a noted nobleman mechwarrior hailing from the Free Worlds League.
The PPC was particularly expensive and difficult to acquire, owing to their scarcity within
House Marik. Sir Grimm reportedly acquired his PPC from a mercenary unit which had seen
action against House Kurita and captured a severely damaged Panther 'mech.
Capabilities:
The Diablo lives up to its name, carrying a 230mm autocannon and a Lord's Light PPC, two of
the most feared weapons on the battlefield. The Diablo also sports a Star League era Dalban
targeting and tracking system scavenged from a defunct Marauder. Jump jets allow the
mechwarrior to use the autocannon to full effect by jumping behind an opponent and tearing
holes through vulnerable rear armor. Although the 'mech does not carry enough heat sinks to
use both of its weapons simultaneously, they are sufficent to allow continual barrage firing
of either one; particularly useful is the 'mech's ability to utilize it's maximum jump and
fire its autocannon without any adverse heat effects. The 'mech's relatively light armor is
its only liability, but it is hoped the jump jets and unique weapons loadout will compensate
for any weakness here.
Deployment:
Only one of these 'mechs exists, and it serves within the ranks of the First Regulan
Hussars. Janos Marik, recognizing the potential of this unique 'mech, has made Sir Grimm
several offers of land and title in an attempt to lure him into the Marik Militia, but Grimm
remains loyal to the Principality of Regulus.

Close range nightmare, I don't want to meet it in city or other areas where it can jump in, loose few alpha-strikes and disengage to cool down. Elsewhere it must maintain strict firing discipline either PPC or AC, both weapons can overheat it quickly. The mech needs some backup in normal battle - Crusader seems to be almost ideal, Covering Diablo as it closes with it's LRMs and then pouring SRMs to holes from AC/20.

I love the fluff!
While the armor is thin for it's size the jumpjets help with that a little bit. The mobility is great for the era this mech would be in. The firepower is well, powerful. I like the concept of two weapon systems, one for ranged affairs and one for up close and personal. The take down ability of the AC is what really sets this one apart. I mean 4 medium lasers has the same damage and range of this but you don't fear 4 medium lasers, you do fear the AC/20.

Here is a nice unique design. I do like the weapons and what not, but the thin armor scares me. I would like to see an advanced tech upgrade of this with DHS and an LBX or Ultra AC (I would prefer the LBX). A nice brawler with a decent movement profile, its like a super HBK.

At first this looks like a two-shot pony, but you have to admit, thyere pretty impressive shots. Use your PPC for 'walkin around' and keep the AC in reserve for when you just cant miss, especially if youre playing with campaign rules and ammo is hard to come by.
A nice mech with a good punch. TUrn a lance of these monsters loose in a city and youll be able to hold it against nearly anything.
