Overview:
    The Panther is one of the most common designs in the Inner Sphere.  Although the majority
    are concentrated in Kurita space, the design serves in every House army in the Inner Sphere,
    most of the periphery armies, and innumerable mercenary units.
    
    The lack of available PPCs in Marik space has made the following refit a necessity for some
    Panther pilots in the service of the Free Worlds League.

Capabilities:
    A 90mm autocannon replaces the Lord's Light PPC on the 'mech's right arm.  The lower heat
    generated by the autocannon led the techs to remove several heat sinks, allowing the 'mech
    to carry a pair of medium lasers.  The SRM pack was downgraded to a two rack in order to
    make room for a second laser.  The resulting design gives up half of it's long range power,
    but becomes a more dangerous infighter.  The only serious shortcoming is the relatively
    small ammo bay for the autocannon, but the twenty bursts provided should be sufficient for
    most actions.

Deployment:
    The precise numbers of this design are uncertain.  Furthermore, there is considerable
    variation among different examples of the class, as would be expected for a class of 'mechs
    consisting entirely of refits.  Most of these designs are in Marik space, although some have
    made their way other other states after being captured in battle, or when it's mercenary
    owner found a new employer.
