Overview:
    Many of the fringe worlds are often subjected to raids from small companies in order to
    replenish supplies on the go.  Eli-Ryu, a modest technician, had been in one such raid.
    During the raid, while hiding inside the rubble of his home, he spent hours staring at the
    lumbering forms of battlemechs that stormed through his town.  Later he commented, 'I
    couldn't take my eyes away from them, besides, I really didn't want to stare into the
    glossed over dead eyes of my wife's corpse.'
    
    The raid, Eli noted, was carried out by lighter mecha with little to no heavy support nor
    artillery.  Just a snatch and grab with a little too much zeal.  The entire town was ravaged
    and the only way anyone could escape the devastation was either to hide in the rubble or go
    out through the main gate, which was occupied by 3 light battlemechs.  Eli spent half of the
    day covered in rubble and blood while watching the mechs destroying the town and a fire
    built inside of his soul.  This was his main reason for his designing the Lineholder.

Capabilities:
    As a mainly defense machine, the Lineholder is most effective against lighter frames at
    range, laying swarms of missiles at any various mecha that may come into range.  The LRM's
    are designed to allow a varying level of offense against foes accordingly.  While the
    missile strikes may not be effective enough a deterrent, they soften an opponent up for a
    strike from the PPC which may cripple or even disable foes.  If a foe comes within close
    range and the missiles become ineffective, the array of energy weapons should deter forward
    momentum of enemy units, thus slowing advancement.

Deployment:
    Primarily built for smaller communities without adequate manpower to man defenses, the
    Lineholder has seen little use in the core.  Still mainly only deployed as a defense unit,
    it has, however, seen some use in canyon warfare where speed is less important than pure
    firepower.  It's primary use however remains in delaying enemy forces from overrunning an
    encampment so that personnel and important equipment are spared from falling into enemy
    hands.
