Overview:
    The Vandal battlemech was developed by White Stag Industries on Solaris VII. White Stag
    Industries started as a single DropShip pilot trading parts across the Lyran commonwealth.
    From the start of the succession wars till the closing years the company slowly grew into
    one of the largest Mech repair and spare parts supply companies on Solaris VII as well as
    one of the most reliable transporters of military hardware across the Lyran Commonwealth.
    White Stag Industries first foray into the battlemech production market was there refit of
    the Quickdraw although they did get the endo steel chassis shipped to them by Technicron
    Manufacturing on Savannah they fitted all the weapons and electronics themselves. The Vandal
    is their first Mech to be produced totally in house the first 2 production runs where of the
    prototype A2 variant which lacked the sophisticated upgraded materials of the full
    production model the A9. recent expansion of their Solaris VII facilities has allowed White
    Stag Industries to open a third production line that produces the A2 variant exclusively for
    mercenary and periphery sale.

Capabilities:
    The Vandal was designed primarily as a close protection bodyguard mech acting in pairs or
    alone the mechs main purpose was to stand up to and stop headhunters looking to kill high
    ranking officers in the field. The designers state that for a mech to get past a Vandal it
    must be willing to be wrecked. The shoulder mounted ERPPC is the Vandal`s main weapon this
    is backed by 6 medium lasers mounted across the torso with a pair of medium pulse lasers on
    the left wrist the mech carries a hatchet in its right hand for close combat. The mech makes
    up for its average ground speed with a jumping range of 120m this gives it a mobility
    advantage in tight and broken terrain which also allows it to close and use its hatchet. The
    mechs ground speed and physical blows are improved and strengthened by Triple Strength
    Myomer. The mechs  design profile was to act as a standoff threat and to remain close to its
    assigned charge.

Deployment:
    There has been mixed response from across the inner sphere as many house military buyers
    balked at yet another hatchet mech citing wasted tonnage while a number of high profile
    regiments have expressed an interest in purchasing a mech dedicated to the protection of
    their commanders. the Grey Death and Northwind highlanders have both made  lance and company
    size purchases. It has also been confirmed that at least two have been operating with the
    Hellraisers mercenary unit. The only major house to show significant interest is Kurita who
    have expressed interest in variant carrying a C3 slave to protect C3 master carriers.

Variants:
    The only existing variant is based on the original prototype that is still produced on one
    production line of the White Stag Industries factories on Solaris VII. The A2 as it is
    designated carries no advanced technology and is armed with a single PPC backed by 5 medium
    lasers with the right hand hatchet it carries 14 single heat sinks.

Notable MechWarriors:
    Although a relatively new design some stories have arisen concerning this mech. Operating
    with a pair of upgraded Hatchetman two Vandals are know to be operating as a close assault
    and protection unit in the command company of the Hellraisers mercenary unit. They have
    recorded a number of impressive kills operating in the chaos march. Including the ambush and
    killing of a Lord Daveroe on Carver V in the Chaos March.
