A good read, unfortunately it has nothing to do with the timeline. I did enjoy Rice's RL novels 'Frost Death' and 'Monsoon' much more. If I could ever find a copy of "Damned If You Do, Damned If You Don't" I would be happy.
The battle sequences were okay and the introduction of semi-sentient alien race went counter to what the original creators wanted [No Aliens!]. As a stand alone story, I actually enjoyed this book, as it's better than most of the MWDA drivel or some of the early Mechwarrior novels ("Ghost of Winter" or "By Blood Betrayed"). |

A terrible sourcebook mainly because of the subject matter and the long-term effects that it would have on the storyline. The cartoon was horrible and badly written, with the hero, Adam Steiner, coming off as a total putz. It is only later that he becomes a hero of the Lyran people, the Highest ranking officer in the military and eventually the Archon [post WOB Jihad]. This cartoon should never have been canonized, it was a great injustice. |
