Bleah.. This is one command mech that i will recommend, for a commander i dislike.
Its speedy and well armoured for its sie but has an absolutely pathetic punch. The hatchet's also pretty much useless, you're better off kicking. |

Where's the RAC?
And that MRM is not supposed to be there, this is a Davion mech, not a DCMS design!
As it stands, it has two effective range brackets and the one close in builds up lots of heat while the medium/long range bracket is a joke.
There are better mechs for the same price. |

True blue brawler.
Tough, absolutely deadly at close range. Heat's pretty easy to manage too.
You really need some long range support for this guy though, the LRM-10 won't cut it.
The IS should bring back this design and upgrade that PPC (easily done). Only thing is the temptation to use it at close range. |

This mech is perfect, if you're in the landscaping business. And that's what those RLs are good for.
Sure this mech has a Medium Laser, but in this day and age, it ain't going to do jack.
The speed decrease is also going to be a pain, 20-tonners don't have much armour in the first place and cutting their speed is only going to hurt them.
Great target practice for them green Steiner Assault Mech pilots. |

God example of why the old tech can be effective if used right.
The heat is practically non-existent.. 1 heat for running and firing everything is very comfortable thank you.
It moves at a decent clip, has heavy armour and is accurate to boot.
Its not heavily armed for its time, but decent enough. |

Runs too hot. The four big lasers pump out 44 heat. Far more than your miserable 15 DHS can handle comfortably..
And like SD says, tag comps and pulse lasers don't work well together no more (i'm taking you at your word SD!!)
Tell me, what can this do that the Timber Wolf can't?
It's so pointless its ridiculous.

Nice weapon mix. But i ask you again, why does the Timber Wolf (not mad cat you spheroid) need replacing?
A Timber Wolf can carry similar weapons with only the loss of say one MedPulse.
It just doesn't cut it in my book and i don't see the Clans, especially one as conservative as the Ghost Bears, developing a new almost identical design to a tried and proven one just because the chasis is ageing.

BOOM
That's the sound you'll hear when this mech goes into battle. And its not the enemy going boom either.
The XXL engine is just asking to be blown up. The armour will NOT help at all, critical heats from LRMs and LB autocannons will be your worse nightmare.
Its also incredibly short-ranged which is compounded by the slow speed. Anyone with a single brain cell will just stay at a safe distance and snipe it too death.
Bad, bad, bad. Poor idea. No amount of implementation can save it. |

Poor..
Sure it has nice ranged weapons, but they have little ammo.
Also the XXL engine.. what's with you and XXL engines? It's not going to help you move faster with 100 tonners, so that means you're still going to get hit. And with the number of crit spaces a XXL engines takes up, that's a BAD THING (TM).
I bet you a Kraken with LB-2Xs can kill this. |

Repeat after me
"XXL engines are a bad idea"
Especially when you're putting them in to get more equipment. If its not helping you to avoid getting hit, its pointless.
To make it worse, your heat levels are bad. An ammo explosion would not be pretty for something with a glass jaw like this. |
