Wow, this is an amazing design. I love beam weapons and this packs a perfect amount. I do have to admit I am not happy with the MG, as I see it being nothing more than extra ammo but the rest of the design far overshadows that minor complaint. |

Though its supposed to be an upgrade, I personally just dont see it. The Pulse lasers are a waste. and the ER Large is going to tax the HS, meaning a lower rate of fire. The standard Medium should have stayed, they were just to good to get rid of. A True upgrade should have been dropping 4 HS for DHS, adding a second ton of ammo, so it could play with the different ammo types. And then adding some electronics. All in all still one of my favorite mechs but just not in this configuration. |

I have to agree with most of the other comments here. Decent but underarmored, I have a design waiting to be approved that fixes this. But the MG are really a waste. they should be lost for armor. And I am sorry. But the IS pulse are nothing more than garbage, replace them with 4 medium lasers and increase the AMS ammo and add the rest to Armor. |

Surprisingly this mech is very durable, will take a huge beating and usually live to tell the tale. At least it did in our game we were running. We had one of these and it was a absolute BEAST! The nastiest thing on 2 legs most of the time. In one game the pilot had 2 or 3 clean kills and assisted in 5 or 6 other mechs falling. Eventually lost a leg. But we won the field and repaired it. We will take thoes ratios everytime. |

I piloted one of these once. had the worst luck with it for 10 rounds of fighting. The egg on stilts, took a LRM 20 rack at max range 3 rounds into the battle, all 20 missiles hit. The 3/4 pilot fell, and couldnt remember how to stand for the next 9 rounds of combat. When all was said and done it had knocked its arm off and damaged a gyro, I eventually shut it down, to save time. I have tried ti since with similar results. Guess the mech just dosent like me. |

I have always liked this mech. Its speed, punch and, agility make it a very nice unit to use. And it looks pretty cool as well. |

A very effective unit that should get a lot more reconition. My only complaint is the pulse, (but then I hate pulse on anything). |

Almost a 5. And one of my all time favorites. The only thing for me would be to drop the MG and ammo and either drop 1 ton of SRM ammo or change the 6 to a 4 rack. add 2 more ML faceing forward, then fill in with HS and armor. |

I love this machine. It is fast powerful and extremely versatle. Amazing display of technology by the clans and possible the most distinct machine for the universe.
The only reason it dosent get a 5 is that fact that I dont like any of the variants. the d comes closest to being the only one I like. Luckily a little modding with this goes a long way. |

This gets closest to my vision of the timberwolf. Love the addition of jump jets to this machine. Would prefer full jump but this isnt bad. As others have pointed out the lack of infantry weapons is there. But most games I have played there is no infantry to begine with. And if there is they get delt with by elementls so its no real worry.
The only problem I have is with mech 4 and the "the timberwolf cant mount jump jets, so they made the timberwolf mk2 to change that problem"
Hmmmm. Wish the game deisngers had followed the universe a bit better. |
