I ran a modified version of this on a friend MekWars server and had a Spider pilot who had no arms and missing leg win by pogo sticking to the finish, were he promptly fell over and lost the other leg. _________________ one must work hard to cultivate the mind and body. and one must always cultivate the mind.

Whoever crosses it first is the winner. Movement is simultaneous, but there is a move order. So if two are close to the end, init matters. Crossing it but not winning because there was a fire phase you dies in AFTER crossing it, well, that would be silly. |
Except that's how we do it at the convention... _________________ www.210sportsblog.com

No legs and a missing arm, at least to me, means you wouldn't win. You have to cross the line and be still be "alive" at the end of movement. In that scenario, for my games, you're eliminated.

Plus you're not allowed to stand with no arms and only one leg anymore... _________________ www.210sportsblog.com

Heh, you had to survive to win all the games we set up at Totalcon. I remember winning Darryl's king of the ring one year after stepping on Lynn's pilot after killing her mech to keep her from running off the map. I forget why I did it, but I think we were tied, and my mech had no armor or internals left... I don't think it ended up mattering, as the next guy trying to kill me was stupid and died on the way in.
In the race, I didn't want initiative to determine the winner, so I added the idea that not only did you have to cross the line, but you had to survive the round. The Race was patterned after Circus Maximus and I'm pretty sure you have to survive to win that race also... _________________ "My Blood is not mine to give, it belongs to my Brothers"

Stepping on a pilot doesn't teach them anything...

Count me in.
Too bad assaults are excluded... I was thinking it was time to try the Great Turtle again. Slow and steady and all that...

Hahaha... at that point it becomes a slug fest. Even with heavies you'll get some whose goal is to destroy and be the last alive. Which is actually fine. There tends to be a good mix of tactics between those who try to complete three laps, and those who try to be the last alive. It typically is pretty fun! We'll see how it all plays out in this format. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

The rules can be found here:
www.mordel.net/barandgrill.php?redirect=viewtopic&t=11322
The exceptions to those rules are in the first post of this thread.
Just send Mordel a site message with your mech whenever you have it picked He'll announce an actual deadline as soon as the max players are reached (or he gets tired of waiting). _________________ www.210sportsblog.com
