This is just my take on what a new Urbie could be if they remade it...

perhaps someone could design an Omni-Urbie? So you could swap the AC10 for flamers and MGs if you know your going up against infantry.

You know what they say, don`t you?
Use an AC/20 to scare people, but SRM launchers for killing them lots and lots.
More chances for a critical.

SRMs are next to worthless against a mint mech, so you generally would need a different primary weapon.

As you say SRMs are great against damaged mechs as crit hunters...

Plus the LB-X is one of the best AC's b/c of weight, it's approximatly a ton lighter than the regular equivalent.

LOL!

But really it is an URBAN mech, thus it should be able to fufill many urban situations, one of which is fighting infantry and/or vehicles.

As an infantry unit what would scare you more, and urbie with an AC10, or one with 12 flamers? or one with 12 SRM2 with inferno rounds?

The Med Pulse is for use against infantry. That -2 mod almost guarentee's it's success. Plus there's the ER small too.

Yes the pulse laser does give you a better chance to hit "anything", but since when is it hard to hit infantry? If they're out in the open they don't move fast enough to get a high defensive mod; maybe if hiding in heavy woods for a +2; and if they're in builings you get a -4 to hit it, then transfer partial damage to them. Really quite easy to hit actually.

The srm2 inferno on the other hand can wipe out a whole platoon with one shot!

And the flamers can start things on fire causing them to move out or possibly suffer complete destruction if they stay in the hex on fire. Plus napalm seems to have quite a demoralizing effect on groundpounders.
