Overview:
    In answer to Alisa's question about fitting two AC/20s onto the arms of a Heavy 'Mech. Not
    very practical, but it is only a proof of concept. So, Alisa, you can't mount two AC/20s on
    a heavy mech without going XL. The MASC is so that I can get away with fitting a smaller engine.

Actually you CAN put two AC20s on a heavy mech WITHOUT needing an XL engine and in the arms as well...

My design doesn't use XL either. As I see it, there are also a few issues with your design: firstly, I cannot see any ammo for those thirsty ACs. Whether this is the case, a formatting issue or just my inability to read I am unsure Very Happy. Secondly, While your design is able to maintain a higher speed, the MASC on my 'Mech gives it the necessary top speed to make the short range of those AC/20s usable. Lastly, to be able to fit the 300 rated engine, you have skimped a little on armour: a whole 3.5 tons (over 60 points) of it, which doesn't exactly endear it to the sort of close combat situations to which it is suited and designed. However, none of these idiosyncrasies really matter as both of our designs are just proof of concept 'Mechs.

I quite like the Torturer's platform, though, and I think that along with moving the intro date to the late Jihad and the removal of one AC/20, and the addition of some other weapons (maybe a PPC and some X-Pulses), some improved JJs and a partial wing, it could make quite a hard hitting design. Unfortunately, if I want to keep the AC purely arm mounted to keep the firing arc, I will have to stay with the more compact standard AC. Maybe some AP ammo as well. Let me know what you think of the idea.

It has ammo, not sure why the CODE format looks like crap, normally it doesn't, second the point was proven, you can put the weapons on a mech with NO higher tech then standard level 1 (old) 3025 tech, yes this one has DHS but I was lazy didn't uncheck the box.

Speed is great, skill is better.
