================================================================================================
Overview:
As demanded by the 'Mother Doctrine' since 2380 the Terran Hegemony was able to keep its
technological edge over the other states of the Inner Sphere throughout most of its
existence.
Although fielding a lot of mech-types their neighbors also had in their forces, the Hegemony
equipped their mechs with high-tech items unobtainable to their rivals.
In 2751 a new light mech marched out of stormvanger Assemblies? factory on Caph to be
exported to the member states oft he Star League. The SLDF itself ordered a variant, but one
with the Hegemonies superior technology instead oft he standard deemed sufficient for
export. The first JVN-TH1 reached their units in 2754.
Capabilities:
With ammo-conservation and safety in mind the JVN-TH1 used four of the efficient
Streak-SRM-2 launchers wich on average had the same damage-potential then the two SRM-6 of
the main-model.
One hundred missiles were stored in a CASE-protected ammo bin and considered enough for most
engagements. This modification left enough tonnage to upgrade the armor by half a ton in
addition to choosing ferro-fibrous armor.
Deployment:
Only a few SLDF regiments got their Javelins before the factory was obliterated in the
Amaris Civil War in 2774.
Variants:
Even though military experts deemed a hundred missiles as enough in particular veteran
pilots complained about getting low on ammo if performing missions that turned out to become
longer than expected or if getting behind enemy lines. A secondary ammo-bin would mean less
protection, more expensive equipment such as XL-engines or a major rework of the design
due to an endo-steel chassis. So the designers came up with another solution: They took out
the right torso mounted Launchers and put in two medium lasers and an additional heatsink.
Only very few of the JVN-TH2 were produced before the destruction of ist factory.
