I'm sitting here reading Operation Audacity (must have just came out within the last couple of weeks) and I just realized who Adam Steiner is...THE SAME ADAM STEINER FROM THE CARTOON! DUH!
Sad as it was knowing about Battletech what I know now, that cartoon got me hooked on Battletech and I didn't even notice the main fraggin' character! When Adam mentioned the Clans invading Somerset, it finally hit me. Damn my swiss cheese brain!

Is it just me, or did Mr. Pardoe (the author of Operation Audacity) make General Sharon Bryan a little TOO egotistical? I don't remember her being that bad in earlier books. Just a minor quible.

Also, I noticed a Clanner named Malthus. Is this the same Malthus from the show?

Not only do i have the 1st Somerset strikers sourcebook, i have DivX;-) files of most of the episodes too 
Not to mention the TOAD toy with Nicolai Malthus from TYCO.

I have an Axman, a Hunchback, an Elemental and a Bushwacker. The Ele. is painted in urban camo. And the Axman is painted like Phelan's Wolfhound IIC (what can I say? I was bored)

Pah, I have you all beaten! I own one of every single mech, two Banshees and two Elementals. I managed to get at least one of every single toy in the series.
At the time, I was really ticked that they never did a second series. I was hoping for a Centurion, Vulture, Mad Cat and Awesome, but NOOOOOO. Jerks.
BTW, I was thinking of Nicholai Malthus. Right bloodline, wrong guy.

Yes, the Malthus from the show is listed in the Jade Falcon rosters (or was; he may have died since then). Kristen Redmond is also from the show and has appeared in the novels a few times. Franklin Sakamoto had his novel appearances as well (Black Dragon, I believe).

Ronin, you are correct. I have just finished Operation Audacity, and Kristen Redmond did make an appearance in it. She was leading a Sholama unit I believe. I think the scene was with Khan Marthe Pryde early in the book.
As for Franklin Sakamoto, I'm not sure if he has made a novel appearance. But it is a distinct possibility.

I think Franklin Sakamoto was used in a plot by the Black Dragon society to replace Teddy Kurita. They were offended by how Teddy Kurita has "forgotten" the old ways, and Franklin being an illegitimate son of Teddy is a potential heir that is unspoiled by the "newthink". Of course, they didn't stop and ask Franklin how he felt about things before they set their plot in motion, which is part of how it failed. At least, that's the way I remember the book: I haven't read it for a while.

Franklin was used in "Black Dragon"...he wasn't a major part of the novel, but he did reunite with his father at the end and was accepted by him as his son...
