Overview:
Designed in secret by General Motors and Centaur Industries during the Amaris Civil War for
Kerensky's forces, the Polaris is based on GM's Maurauder design and like the Nightstar was
meant to dupe Rim Worlds forces who were targeting that Heavy 'Mech. However, the primary
factory on Terra would be discovered by Amaris just before Kerensky's siege to retake it and
would be destroyed, ensuring the design would not survive the Succession Wars.
Only the Helm Memory Core was able to give the 'Mech a second life, with General Motors
making a production run for the Davion side of the Federated Commonwealth alliance and
Centaur Industries also manufacturing it for the Lyran side. This would allow it to see
action during the Clan Invasion, as well as participate on both sides of the FedCom Civil
War. Lyran production would dry up, however, when Alpha Centauri was taken by the Word of
Blake, and since Centaur Industries would remain in Republic of the Sphere hands after the
Jihad and all the way to its replacement by the ilClan Centaur Industries was forced to
outsource the design to Defiance Industries in order to honor its Lyran contracts.

Deployment:
The Polaris was first deployed in the Amaris Civil War, and would indeed be its only
deployment until the Grey Death Legion recovered the means to reverse the Inner Sphere's
technological decline. In the modern Inner Sphere its main conflicts were fighting against
the Clans during Operation REVIVAL and going against itself when the Federated Commonwealth
split in two.
The Word of Blake would also deploy the 'Mech when they got their hands on Alpha Centauri,
creating their own fearsome variants in their campaign of terror against the rest of
humanity.
