Just wondering about the Small Pulse Laser? With a range of only 3 hexs, it doesn't seem like a good choice. An ER Medium would seem much better to me, with much greater range, greater damage, and mildly increased heat, which isn't a problem anyways...
Of course you may see something in it that I do not.

Ares and I have a different definition of 'cheap', I think. Ares? Remind me to not hire you for my procurement department. 
The good: Nice weapon in teh RAC/5, good to see it attempted on a lil' guy. Average speed and armor for its size.
The bad: The cost is a bit much. The DHS are an expense that isn't needed, and further review shows two ouchies ... the first being that violtion of the Golden Rule of XL engines ... never use one to go the normal speed for a weight class. You're usually over-gunning a mech at that point. Secondly, the armor is just too dang light for an XL mech that doesn't have more speed to protect it. 8 pts of armor is all you have to shoot through to take out the engine? The poor thing'll never survive long enough on the battlefield to get that AC/5 into plan.
Final analsys? Overgunned, over-cooled, over-priced, and under-defended, it just can't quite go.
Sad, tho. I really like the attempt!

How can this be over priced? It's only 3,836,170 C-Bills. How is that over priced?
What are you comparing it to, to get the idea that the Blade is over priced?
The heat sinks are there to cover rapid firing of the RAC.
As for the rest I can follow you on the engine comments but that is about it...could you please give some more on why you think it's over priced?

Probably those 30-ton mechs that use a standard engine and cost something like 2,3 to 2,7 million C-bills.

Nice design. But it seems too ammo dependent, IMO. Then again, I usually use energy-based mechs, so I may be a bit biased.

I Like AC's, but lose the SRM and the small Pulse. Replace them with a HS and ER Med and Smalls.....
