Fluff: This vehicle was created by Clan Wolf (in Exile) in late 3064 and was produced in very limited numbers. To date, only 12 of these artillery vehicles have been seen, and all of them are in use by the Kell Hounds. It is believed that the vehicles were only intended to be used by the Hounds, because of the clan honor code and the fact that no WiE unit has been seen using one. The vehicle recieved its name as a joke from one of the deisgners, who stated that artillery was "Always a good way to reach out and touch someone." It is unknown if the clan plans to ship this vehicle off to help in the Civil War, but there are always rumors that people have seen one in use by Victor Davion's units. This has yet to be proven, and may be nothing more then a case of mixing up designs by civilians.

I'm going to have to disapprove of this design. While the concept is interesting, there are a few flaws.

1. The XL engine. Given the fact that tanks still die relatively easily, it is considered a waste to put XL on tanks among a lot of older members. Even then, only getting 3/5 isn't very good.

2. The Lasers. Those three large pulse lasers give it unneeded attack capability- it can actually take out a light mech with those. However, the relatively limited range of those weapons coupled with the slow speed of the vehicle make close combat suicide. And the 20 heat sinks that you are having to slap on are rediculous- that's 20 tons of your tank right there.

My suggestion? Drop the three large pulse lasers for (at most) a large laser or a PPC of some sort. The escort units can handle what those can't- remember, you want just enough defensive weapons on an artillery unit to ensure that hostile units keep their distance. Use the leftover tonange from the weapons and heat sinks to up the speed and drop to a regular fusion engine. 20+ tons will cover the conversion back from any BMR rating XL to regular.

Or, if nothing else the weight savings from dropping even one Large Pulse Laser will allow you to upgrade to a Sniper Artillery Piece- the leftover weight, coupled with the weight of the now-unneeded heat sinks, might be able to give you a regular engine (I don't have the tonnage charts memorized... yet.)

It has potential, but needs a serious re-working.

The biggest fault is that you didnt put the weapons in a TURRENT !

Instead of too much armor, fusion engine & energy weapons, you should use a ICE enginge and ammunition based weapons which doesnt create heat in a vehicle.

How about using Rocket Launchers instead of the lpL's ?

Vehicles tend to die quickly as 2/3 of the critical hits immidiatly destroy EACH vehicle.

That number should be 75. I do not know why I hit a 1 instead of the 7.

I am currently remaking this vehicle. Hopefully I should be able to post a better version by tomorrow.

Fluff is good, shocking [that you wrote any] but good.

But like some of the others have stated you would be better off dropping at least two of the LPLs in favor of more armor/cheaper engine.

I also personally think that if WiE were to design a new arty vehicle I would think they would have used Arrow IV. Increased damage to weight ratio, though at a reduced range from the gun.

What I would like to see in a single Arrow IV launcher carrier would be at least 4/6 movement with if possible a standard Fusion engine to make the things affordable. At least three tons of ammo for the main weapon. I would probably mount the main weapon forward and then put a light turret on with a couple of MPLs or ER Meds with maybe a couple of LRM 5s. And of course CASE and moderate armor.
