About 6 months ago (maybe longer) I purchased the GM's Guide and Player's Handbook because it looked interesting. I really liked the system but because I didn't own any of the sourcebooks in that large game universe I didn't feel I could run a logical campaign, and put the books on my shelf with all the other stuff I thought was really cool but would probably never use.
Until today.
I was visiting my FLGS to get some one-pocket pages to put the RS:3067 sheets into when I wandered over to the games section. They had just put out a huge lot of used gaming stuff--including 13 7th Sea sourcebooks!!!
Paid under $50 for ~$250 worth of stuff for a game I thought I would never be able to run...looks like I've got some reading to do!!!

I ended up spending over $100 on used stuff, most of it in damn nice shape. Mostly just sourcebooks & scenarios for OOP games, but a couple things I got hadn't been out that long (was d20 stuff).
I asked who had sold all the stuff (I used to work there many years ago and know just about all the "big" gamers around here) but they wouldn't tell me, but they did say he was going to bringing more stuff in sometime next week.
Judging from the stuff that was there I have an idea of who it may have been, and if its him he's got some great stuff in his collection. Gunna have to check back there every day next week to see what turns up

Well, I returned to my FLGS this afternoon for my weekly visit and the gentleman hadn't returned, so I hung out with the guys for a few minutes.
Just as I was about to leave he came in. After he sold his stuff to them he came over to talk to me (I had wandered over to the new comic racks to give them some privacy) and he obviously knew who I was but I didn't recognize him at all. I've worked sales before and have run into many people that I didn't recognize that knew me so I'm pretty good at faking it.
Turns out his wife told him to clean out his spare room so their kids wouldn't have to share a bedroom anymore (his boys are 11 and 9, but I couldn't get their names out of him ). He's just getting rid of stuff he doesn't use or had no interest in.
The stuff he sold this week wasn't as cool as the previous batch, but I did mangage to pick up high grade copies of Tactics 2, Panzer Leader, and Panzer Blitz for short dollar.
He told the guys he'd be back Sunday with more stuff, so I'll be venturing over there at some point. The guys at the store said he owns at least one copy of The Longest Day, so I'm hoping that's going to be coming next

The Longest Day is really good at small level (say Divison v Divison) but is unwieldy during the campaign scenario or the main game (landing, breakout, and Normandy). It is just a question of scale. When you are looking at indiivual battalions, and in some cases companies and batteries, it is to micro-managing for my tastes.
That said, I would give up my left nut before I give up my copy of the game.

I have seen only 2 copies of that game since you told me you were looking for one and neither was in good enough condition to even mention it to you.
I'm not even sure you'd have been able to put together 1 full game from the 2 put together.

I was able to get a copy of Silver Bayonet, and it is pretty good, but it isn't Vietnam.
*sigh* and yet I can find a gazillion copies of D&D in the gamstore that are out of print, but nothing I want.

Its a board game put out by a company called Victory Games in the early to mid 80s.
I've found its not an easy game to find in good shape

It's wargame put out by Victory Games from about 15 years ago. This of course is back from when wargames were paper maps and cardboard counters and were social events taking a weekend to complete.
But at any rate, the game I am looking for covers the entire conflict.
The Longest Day is the same idea but only covers D-Day and the Normandy Campaign and is one of the most detailed games ever...and one of the largest in number of playing pieces (1800 I think) and covers 7 full-sized maps (although all 7 are only used for the complete game).
