For those who are interested: Wizkids have finally released their 'mechs.
Only 4 non-unique 'mechs (and 4 agromechs) the other 12 are unique. We've seen all apart from 3 before (or so we are meant to believe......).
My confession: I've been playing MageKnight from the start, way before any of you even talked about it. I was sure to keep mum, once I realised this crowd's sentiments. Dunno, it was the only game actively played by people in my part of the world - until I found BTers about 3 months ago.
I like it in a fun sort of way. Nothing to ever spend much thought on.
Anyways, I just looked at the MW rules and they are a clone of MK. A bit more complicated, trying to incorporate some old Battletech rules/feelings, but at heart, just MK. And as much fun as MK is (to me) it doesn't do the greatest game ever justice. It is a spin-off. By itself it would be like any other trading game: The flavour of the minute and nothing else.
MK / MW is a bit of fun. Battletech is a way of life. Well, as much as a game (actually: "Gaming Universe" would be more appropriate) is ever gonna be....

Ah, I was gonna comment on that. But I thought it had more than a loose connection to the good old BT..... _________________ "Rear armour is defeatist!" - unknown Kuritan Mechwarrior

Mordel has requested that all postings regarding MW:DA, along with following the posting policy, be placed in the "General Gaming" forum as MW:DA isn't Battletech.
It's to clarify the diference between the 2 games.

For me MW:DA IS BattleTech as much as CBT, BT TCG, Aerospace, Battlespace, BattleTroops, MechWarrior, MechCommander, are BattleTech
Even the novels, the MechWarrior RPG and the animated TV serial about the 1st Sommerset Strikers are BattleTech for me.
Hi chihawk,
to avoid confusing others you should replace BattleTech wit CBT in posts like that

Absolutely not.
If you don't like the policy that is use here you are more than welcome to go elsewhere.
If you wish to debate the rules you can send Mordel a private message and I'm sure he'll give it the attention it deserves.
