Machine guns on a fighter? Seems a little silly to me. Not to mention it's pretty slow for a 20 ton fighter. Most any heavy fighter can go just as fast if not more and then blow the piss out of it once in range. Especially with only .5 ton of armor

It's a conventional Fighter...and they have limited useage. Not everything is going to pack millions of dollars of high tech weapons.
Also this fighter would play hell and havoc on infantry units...

Even so. With no armor on it, i think anyone flying that thing must have a death wish. Especially if they were going to actually get in range to make use of those machine guns. In which case, I think even infantry could probably blow it up once in range. But oh well. No matter

Remember what Karagin said- this is intended to hunt unarmored and lightly armored targets. This includes unarmored infantry, supply vehicles, and most buildings. 2 or 3 hits by an AC/2 round to most of those should kill something, especially if this unit is used as part of a pack.
Personally, I'd suggest an LRM-5 varient: you can slap three of them on for the same tonnage as that LB-X, and you'll be more likely to do damage

| Ya, well that's what i was thinking too. Though maybe only 2 lrm5's & a ton or 2 of ammo so then you can at least put a little bit more armor on it.
