Got your attention didn't it?
Now onto the question. Can a Battlemech missing a leg, with 2 engine hits, and a gyro hit even walk?
We couldn't figure it out during our game and the GM wasn't even sure.

I don't know about walking but it can still jump... Though the landing will more then likly kill.
I believe it can stand up if the PR is made...but I don't think it can walk.

The simple answer is "yes". Well, actually as worded the answer is "no", but I'll explain below.
It would actually depend on the pilot's base skill. The missing leg would add +5 and the gyro would add +3, so a pilot with a base skill of 4 or less would have a chance to stand. Any movement action a one-legged mech makes is considered a "run".
The engine hits play no role in attempting to stand.

Correct, it can't walk. It can only "run" based on the minimum movement rule.

If I had a mech like the one described I would stay down prop myself up...I don't have good luck with restanding in those situtations...

Me neither...at the mentioned "Horhirocon" I had an Archer that needed 5s to stand and failed all 3 times.
Nothing out of the ordinary for me

It could be worse. For some reason on the second point of damage to a mechwarrior I can never get him/her to wake up the first time (if they fall uncoscious). It is generally same the next time too. That usually costs me quite a bit of armor.

If you were immobile in front of me you'd lose more than armor...more like a limb or a torso

Yup! If it's a fairly minty 'mech, definitely go for a leg instead of spreading it all about. That way when they do wake up, they have a tough time actually getting up. Unless they have XLs, then you might as well go for the torso. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator
