Hey guys,

Just wanted to say that it was a pleasure meeting you guys, and blowing up some mechs.

Thanks to hohiro for the hospitality (and Deadfish for the chicken!)

Well, I'm sure we all had a good time. I just wish Dead-Fish didn't kick my ass in the caverns. I never saw anyone roll so many 9s for location. I had two 'mechs with no left legs. ughhh!!!

I don't think Horhiro is very happy with me for destroying his mechs (including a 0g/0p Centurion) so quickly

I'm wondering where the pics are!

Ya. It was fun. And the food was good. Though I still wish I had jumpjets on those mechs I had stuck on that mountain for the first 1/2 of the scenario

Hey gang!

Thanks to all of you for coming and providing a very fun time.

For those of you who were not able to attend I'll try to encapsulate the day without being too long winded.

First off was the Sherwood Forest Scenerio based from the novel "Patriots and Tyrants". The Fighting Urak Hai (Davion) are pushing the Direon Regulars (Kurita) back towards a dust off site. The DR are overpowered in BV by about 130%- 150% and the FUH are all much faster more mobile mechs. The terrain is 9.5 maps large with 4 understrength lances on each corner, the DR forces moving backwards to the middle where their Union Dropship would arrive on turn 15 to pick them up.

Chihawk, Shadowking, CSSHerod and I were Kurita vs. Pinhead, SK's bro,Dead-Fish, and the Mighty Mordel as Davion scum.

Highlights and Lowlights (depending on your POV):

Shadowking's forces stuck on a mountainous river map finding it very difficult to manouver and lend aid (frustrating I'm sure),

Pinhead realizing SK had very limited mobility joined his forces with Mordel to punish my lance. (I lost my Rifleman,Cataphract and Hunchback, but did manage to dust Mordel's Bushwacker and Wolfhound, and lightly damage Pin's Enfield.)

Chihawk holding all six of DF and SKB's mechs with only his three and WITH ONLY ONE FOR ABOUT 3 TURNS!!! These guys ganged up on him so bad and yet they let CSSHerod forces retreat back to the dust off site unchallenged. Chihawk deserves the player of the game for tying up so many forces for so long.

With my forces KOed I went outside to grill all the dead animals that everyone brought (DF made quite the delectible marinated chicken) so I lost track of the next few rounds as everyone retreated to the DU. The evil Davions had destroyed our CO earning them extra points and so our forces were looking for a marginal victory at best when we called the game. The Dropship would have entered in just a few rounds more to probably rescue the remaining Drac forces. Pin however was of the impression that his team's forces could've taken it down.....

Scenerio 2 was a two mech/each player for himself free for all in the underground caverns of Ishiyama on Solaris7. The game quickly broke down into 3 2vs2 battles, with Chihawk and me left out just trying to reach someone through the dangerous terrain. IIRC Dead-fish handed it to Mordel, CSSHerod to SKB and Pin and Shadowking about even? With 7:00 approaching quickly (my wife booted everyone out then) Chihawk and I decided that the Solaris broadcasters edited our booring footage and placed our 4 mechs about 5 hexes apart and started blasting! the combined firepower of his Caesar and Black Knight (although he missed with the Heavy Guass) blew up all three ammo bins in my Centurion Yen lo Wang. I returned by damaging the Caeser with said mech and my Axman. the next round he pounded me again and I took out the Caesar, but was then toasted by the mint BK the next round.

All in all it was a very enjoyable day with much talk of Btech, Click tech and everything in between. Can't wait to see you guys at TotalCon in Feb. Thanks again!

And oh yes, I did defeat the Mighty Mordel in Bubble Hockey. He had a 6-3 lead at one point and I tied the game at 7-7 with no time left in the 3rd period and then finished him off in OT. The most enjoyable game I've had in a long time!

I would like to point out that I had that 6-3 lead in the 3rd period no less. I started sitting back on my heels just trying to defend and ice the puck when possible. Well, everyone knows how great those strategies turn out. But I do agree with you. It was the best game of Bubble Hockey I've played in a very long time.

Oh, and the BTech was good too...

To recount my battle with with Pinhead, it was his PXH-3D? and PTR-4D vs my WHM-8D and ARC-Rubinsky. It started off with mine being stuck on the opposite side of a lake and his in open. I manage to skirt around lake through some dud boobytraps with his units in relatively close range. After the first round of actual open combat (the previous were just a couple pot shots at range), the otherwise Minty PXH fell asleep after a ML & SRM hit to the head. The next turn, after trying to blow off the PXH's XL'd RT (I ran outta aimable weapons) a stray SRM missile managed to find it's mark and finished off the last of the PXH's head. While the PTR peppered my WHM with pulses. Then began the chase as the PTR began hopping about in circles around this big rotary within the cavern. With all that firepower bearing down on it, the PTR still continued to be mobile and wear my units down with constant pulse laser fire. Until finally it took a Last Stand out in the open (mostly due to our about to be kicked out). Even still, the PTR continued to weather through the pounding. That is, until he finally took a dual head hit (fear rolling 4D6 and actually getting 4 6's) and since he had already taken 1 earlier, decided to take a nap. And thus the battle was then concented to. All in all, though out numbered and out gunned, the PTR put up 1 hell of a fight. And probably could have continued to last if not for the time constraint. Though I had mostly only armor damage, there really wasn't much of it left on either mech.

And there was the battle. Being wrapped up in my own battle, I really had no idea what was going on with any of the other. Though I believe I've some clue as to what occured between CCSHerod & my Bro's mech. It also seemed pretty interesting as well. Which i think pitted a HBK-5P & PTR-6M vs a PTR-4D? & AXM-3S?. But I'll let CCSHerod tell it as I'm sure he can probably recount it much better than I.

Oh, and let us not forget the young rising star who made an appearence late in the party. Who, with wide eyes, looked at the battlefield before him in eager exitement of future battles to come for which he will be a part of. And likely taking his dad apart in.
