My 16 year old daughter just called me to complain that she was grounded for a week by her mother and she felt it wasn't right because "she didn't do anything wrong". Normally I don't talk about stuff like that with her mom...I figure she lives with her mom and that's who decides what's appropriate when she's punished.
After discussing the issue with her mother we decided that my daughter was indeed correct, that 1 week wasn't right.
So we grounded her for 2 weeks instead.

Although I realize it's really none of my business, I'm now intrigued to know exactly what she did. I'm not even quite 14 yet and I just hit the 2-month mark with my girlfriend, so I'd like to look at it from my jaded point of view. I've done stupid stuff before, and I hope and belive that you at least went over why you decided to make it even longer.

Ares, don't get to close to this or it might blow up in your face. He's not giving any Ideas to you and no Ammo for your parents to ground you over....

That wasn't what I was going for, i just wanted to think about the other varibles in the situation. I guess this is a touchy subject or something, so I'll leave it at that.

I'll put it this way...
...my daughter's mother and I hadn't spoken face to face in almost 3 years and we taked about a myriad of things--comparing notes so to speak.
My daughter has hopefully learned a valuable lesson about the intellegence of adults and the respect that they should be shown.
