And after reading a thread over on the ClassicBTech Message Board asking for weird Artillery vehicle designs, I came up with this one...

Walking MPs: 3
Running MPs: 5
Jumping MPs: 3
Heat Sinks: 10(20)-0 tons
Gyro: 3 tons
Cockpit: 3 tons
Armor Factor: 208-13 tons

CT: 31/30
CT(R): 10
R/LT: 21/30
R/LT(R): 10
R/LA: 17/20
R/LL: 21/20
BV: 1,066 Cost: 9,668,000 C-Bills
Weapons and Equipment:
Sniper Artillery Piece-RA/RT-10/10 crits-20 tons
Sniper Artillery Piece-LA/LT-10/10 crits-20 tons
Ammo(Sniper)20-RT-2 crits-2 tons
Ammo(Sniper)20-LT-2 crits-2 tons
ER Medium Laser-CT-1 crit-1 ton
ER Medium Laser-H-1 crit-1 ton
Jump Jet-CT-1 crit-2 tons
Jump Jet-RL-1 crit-2 tons
Jump Jet-LL-1 crit-2 tons
Overview:
When imagining 'Mech based artillery systems, must companies only considered Arrow IV based artillery systems, imagining that the recoil from artillery guns would be too much for most 'Mechs to withstand.
This was before the Thor's Hammer Heavy Gauss Rifle was developed.
Utilizing techniques created to deal with the recoil from these weapons, Defiance Industries found that they could effectively manage the forces exerted when an artillery gun was fired from a 'Mech and immediately began studies on how to alter the chassis of their Fafnir to make use of these types of weapons.
Capabilities:
Although designers attempted to mount Long Tom artillery pieces onto the chassis, they could find no way to circumvent the restrictions and place such a huge weapon on the 'Mech. They therefore resorted to their alternate weapon, the Sniper artillery piece. Although shorter ranged than the Long Tom and the Thumper, it was able to place twice the ordinance on impact as the latter, and with two mounted on a single frame, it could match the former's firepower. Placing two on the same frame also allowed two different targets to be fired upon, although the fire arc is limited to some degree. As close in support, two extended range 5cm lasers were added to the design to provide some measure of comfort to the pilot.
Unlike many other artillery 'Mechs found in the Inner Sphere, this design has also been fitted with jump jets, making it one of the most maneuverable mobile artillery pieces available. Able to hide in the deepest woods and reach most spots others would deem unapproachable, the SkyFyre can make the most of its surrounding terrain to neutralize counterbattery fire or assaults upon itself.
However, for all its strength, the pilot must remember that it lacks close-in firepower and the armor of most assault 'Mechs its size. Therefore, he must be careful to avoid personal combat if at all possible.
Deployment:
The SkyFyre only began initial trial deployment near the end of the FedCom Civil War, and thus there are few in any units. A full company of SkyFyres was used by Caesar Steiner's 2nd Donegal Guards in their efforts to root out the Free Skye forces remaining on Hesperus II towards the close of the conflict. They proved instrumental in Steiner's eventual victory, and his praise for the design should result in many orders for the 'Mech.
I also made a Long Tom arti-piece in a turret carrying, 8/12 moving, 95 ton hyrdofoil with around 152 armor points with CASE (IIRC), and a 200 ton sub that moves 2/3, has a few hundred points of armor, and that carries a Long Tom artipiece in a turret and 2 Arrow IVs mounted up front, with a Guardian in the hull with CASE on the ammo...
What do you think?

Putting aside the fact that I don't like how arty works with BT, I have to say I do like that mech.
Can you post information on the submarine and hydrofoil? They might make good Russian designs!

It's a fine design, but I also am interested in the Sub and Hydrofoil. Could you post them?

Interesting- Skyfire is my callsign on the G. I. Joe boards.
Personally, while I think that you have an interesting concept, that's not a name that I'd pick for that type of mech. Has Mjollnir already been taken?

Then it'll work for the mech. If you'll notice, FASA occasionally used names twice- such as Centurion (mech, fighter)and Stingray (fighter, planned name for Anvil).
