I've seen in TDB that there are several pieces of equipment I've never heard of. Can you guys help me out here with some info?
1. Large engines
2. Composite and reinforced structures
3. Laser heat sinks
4. The difference between CASE I/II
5. OS and improved OS missile weapons
6. LRM Artemis IV/V Ammo and Thunder ammo
7. Combine
8. Cowl
9. ELRM series missiles
10. iNarc ECM, explosive, haywire and nemisis ammo
11. SRM acid, AP, narc, magetic pulse, heat-seeking, fragmentation, smoke, and tandem charge ammo.
12. Triple strength myomer
13. Null Sig system
Sorry about the huge list

Ares...how about deleting your original post and posting a new post instead of totally editing one you've already put up to completely change the topic that was originally mentioned--especially when someone has replied to your first post.

:1. Large engines
Max Tech.
:2. Composite and reinforced structures
Max Tech
:3. Laser heat sinks
Max Tech
:4. The difference between CASE I/II
Max Tech
:5. OS and improved OS missile weapons
OS means "One-Shot" They were originally discussed in the TRO 2750, but were modified for Max Tech
:6. LRM Artemis IV/V Ammo and Thunder ammo
Thunder munitions are mines. Go to the Max Tech, Tactical Handbook, and Unbound.
:7. Combine
Equipment for agromechs. Just ignore it.
:8. Cowl
Extra armor for head. Originally introduced in MFUK, crossed the ocean to become FASA official. Max Tech.
:9. ELRM series missiles
Tactical Handbook; possibly Max Tech
:10. iNarc ECM, explosive, haywire and
nemisis ammo
Try the Comstar field guide.
:11. SRM acid, AP, narc, magetic pulse, heat-seeking, fragmentation, smoke, and tandem charge ammo.
Max Tech.
:12. Triple strength myomer
Tactical Handbook; Max Tech. When a mech builds up a certain amount of excess heat, movement penalties are turned into movement and physical attack bonuses.
:13. Null Sig system
TRO: 2750, Max Tech, Tactical Handbook.

Ares. my best advise in building a mech. Is to keep it simple. It is alot like bioiolgy. Sometimes the simple one cell creature will survie. And the more complex creature will not.
For example:
The XL engine, A great bit of tech. But you take out eithier torso. And you are out of the game. But a Standard will remain in the fight.
Now I do use XL's alot. But I am clan. A when you take out a torso. I only take two engine hits and can remain in the fight.
How long have you been playing Btech?

To add to what ICER said--I've seen many experienced players in level 1 mechs beat newbies in "munchie mechs".
People should learn the game before jumping into stuff like that.

Kraken is mistaken on a few of his references. Artemis IV and TSM should be in the BTech Master Rules. I believe Thunder munitions are in there as well.

Gangrene, They are in both. They got incorperated in the later books. Look at the Explorer Corps book. Half the harsh terrain rules in Master Rules came from that book. NO work, just editing.
AWAD- recycle, signs of intelligence and desperation when done by gaming companies

Sorry about the editing thing Chihawk, I edited the post after seeing a bunch more things in TDB and I didn't bother to see if anyone had replied, figuring that since I edited it right after posting no one would have relpied by then and I had to go to Church, which I was already late for. I played about about six months then my group leader and his brother moved away and took all the books, and right now I'm trying to find a set of players, which is hard since I can't drive or anything.
