Seems that the King Conan movie may still have life in it...

Interesting. I to have been a long time fan of the first Conan movie (The second well was a little lame) Having read quite a few of the books I have often wondered why they never made more of then.
My biggest hope is that, if they do make this movie, that, they dont KIDDIE it down, They tend to do that sort of thing with movies that could be very good if they made them for the intended audience. Dungeons and dragons the movie, for starters. If they had done some research they may hve realized that the majority people going to go and see that, were 18 to 25 when the game came out in the 70's. So instead they made a horrible movie that was catered to the young audiance and not the people who were going to go and see it.
So My hopes for a Conan movie that lives up to the books or to the Conan legacy is actually VERY bleak. I just dont see them going dark and mature audiance oriented, I hope I'm wrong of course but time will tell.

Hopefully he won't fight Thulsa Doom again, for two reasons, James Earl Jones sucked, and he was a KULL Villain!!!
I hated the Conan movies. They were horrible. The only kewl part was being a kid getting into a R movie.

I could not disagree with you more...Conan the Barbarian was THE FINEST fantasy movie ever made until Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring was made...it has an unbelievable soundtrack (I still say this is the best movie soundtrack ever created), some of the best lines ever in a movie (the extended edition also has a couple great scenes added to it that make it even better) and the movie was just epic...and considering the time in which it was made...
And James Earl Jones did NOT suck...he rocked as Thulsa Doom...

Hear, hear. The second movie kind of sucked, but the first one was a true all-time classic. _________________ "Those who beat their guns into plows will plow for those with guns..." -Thomas Jefferson

Hey, it's just my humble opinion. They screwed his origin, screwed him with a villain that had nothing to do with his character, saddled him with a lousy/butt ugly actress sidekick and a crazy ass wizard, tossed in as many wrestlers wearing rediculous armour and Giant-sized weapons as they could....
But, hey at least he got to deck a camel, and a queer evil monk.....

The first movie is a grand spectacle anyway. No matter that I have read most or all of the Conan stories and own a couple of collection books. The soundtrack rules, and the characters are nice enough. Subotai, thief and archer is my favorite
I`d rather see a movie based on the long adventure "Beyond the Black River", but we can`t get everything as we`d like it. King Conan will have to do.

One of these days, I'm going to have to read the Conan novels, and maybe see if I can get some of the comic issues I missed in the various series...as for the soundtrack, I'm listening to that right now...

I liked Hawk the Slayer mucho better. Jack Palance, now there's an actor who could play a convincing bad guy!
