So I was driving around listening to the radio when the DJ says "Cinco de Mayo is coming up. If you don't know what its about, it's a celebration of a battle in which a Mexican army beat a French army. No offense to the Mexican people, but who hasn't beaten the French?"

Now that you mention it, IIRC the US has never fought and beaten the French. Operation Torch doesn't count.
I dislike the French as much as you, probably even more since I have them as neighbors. If so many people have beaten the French it's because the French have fought against so much people that eventually they lose. But it's never easy to beat the French.
I don't like the French, but I do respect their military history, even if they come in the losing side more often than not.
