In case anyone needs to know, I've learned the definition of "minor surgery" is surgery that happens to someone else.

I told you it was gonna hurt. The doctors never seem to make that surgery sound so bad, but I know from experience it hurts after. I can tell you I was a wimp for 2 weeks afterwards.
Remember, ya gotta get up and move around, because that's what makes you hea faster.

I've only had toes and fingers cut up by surgeons. That would be minor surgery.
Don't play with knifes if you want to avoid the finger surgery. It really hurts, and your hand isn't too useful while it heals.

I've had lots of eye surgery, but nothing more than that, so I have nothing to compare it against. I hope you're doing okay, Chihawk.

no... minor is stuff like iv port implants, scare releases, stiches, and such. anything else is surgery and major surgery. i guess since i've spent so much time there i'm picking up the minor variations.

OK, folks...they story...
On Wednesday I went into the hospital for hernia sergery. It was expected that I'd be in surgery for under an hour and be well on my way to recovery before noontime...
Well, my "one small" hernia turned into 2 fairly large ones and a "medium" one....I didn't even get out of surgery until after 1400.
I was expecting some pain, but HOLY COW!
There is nothing I do that doesn't cause pain...and I am walking around like I should be despite having to pick my eyeballs off the ground with every step I take.
I have a very high threshold for pain but this is just rediculous...

Be it one hernia or three, they have to cut a hole in you. I could've told you it was gonna hurt no matter what you did, but then that would've been bad and probably made you twice as nervous.
The pain does subside, and it'll all be better in no time. Taking that first shower after a week or so without being able to feels great. Can't get the staples wet and all. Oh, and don't worry about having the staples pulled afterwards, that truly doesn't hurt. Feels like someone pulling a hair out, that's all.

Well I would classify that as much more then minor. I had a surgery to fix my turf toe (Ingrown toenail just dosent sound as sexy) and the doctor warned me that the last shot was going to be the most painful, I figured that with a numb toe it wouldnt be to bad. I walked on my ass 2 inches up the table.
So how in the world did you get 3 hernia's?

Chihawk is very talented...
I've only had surgery twice, Tonsils and when I tore my thumb nearly off. So I've never had the pleasure of dealing with that problem...

The only problem with hernia surgery, or at least the kind chihawk and myself have had, is the incision is right where you bend to get up. It kind of gives you a new perspective on what woman who have a c-section go through. Only not as bad, I'm sure.

Already did the "shower" thing Friday...the Doctor wasn't worried about the staples getting wet.
I've had similar surgery before (slightly south of where I had it this time) and that hurt a lot...this is a ton worse. I've had staples before...slight burning sensation coming out but not all that bad.
